💪 Try Shred 40 for free this Sunday for our 2nd “Give and gain” workout of the year.

Sunday 7th June
Charity: The Cow Shed
Time: 9-10 am
Location: Foxely Playing Fields, Binfield

Open to everyone of all levels this bodyweight fitness session is free to attend with a non-obligatory donation to local charity The Cow Shed, a local charity which provides support to people of all backgrounds in a time of personal crisis. The aim of The Cowshed is to provide good quality cleaned and ironed clothes and other essentials free to anyone in need.

📰 Choosing R & R over racing

In my latest ramblings and it’s a whole new chapter in this “messy middle”. 
 
But this time it’s one of relief.
 
The relief of finally giving in to healing. After five years of injuries, spending month’s trying to recover just to make start lines, championships, finals… 

An endless loop of appointments — physios, chiropractors, podiatrists, scar work therapists, red light specialists, massage therapists — always chasing the fix that would get me back for that championship start line.

Relief not to be chasing a breakthrough or another way to push through. 
 
Just letting myself be, exactly where I am, for a little while.

“Maybe it’s not about chasing another breakthrough. Maybe we just need to let ourselves be. To stop rushing the healing.”

📰 The messy middle

In my blog this week I talk about how j am currently in the “messy middle” of a bunch of tests and a fourth coming spinal block after a long 16 month wait to help with a nerve issue that’s played havoc with my sprint seasons for over 2 years.

After two flare ups of quite random hip pain following sitting it’s not pretty place to be and I’ve not quite reached my usual positive spin on it right now.

In my blog from last week (where has the time gone) I talk why I did a juice till dinner detox as such.

This wasn’t about a quick weight loss fix though, it was about hitting the reset button on my habits before they bit me on the bum.

As with everything small steps and consistency build up to success but carry on the way I was with the biscuits and it could have been one habit I didn’t want to form.

So back onto good habits it is Afterall …

⚽️ 💪 Next in my “Train with ……” me reels is my sports performance client .shorty7 .

Jacob’s parents came to me last year to ask for help with Jacob’s running technique, posture, speed and general strength and conditioning following a procedure on his foot and some time out of action.

We’ve worked on his technique and posture initially to improve speed and efficiency on the pitch before moving onto more in-season strength, speed and power mixing up gym and grass sessions.

His team have a number of achievements this year with Jacob leading as captain and setting a fabulous example of commitment to all the fitness components required of a footballer;

As we head into a run of Tournaments our focus has continued in maintaining strength, power all whilst working on agility to keep Jacob sharp on the pitch for those shorter pitches and faster paced games to come.

Here’s a sneak peak at one of his sessions of recent weeks, although only showing one of his 100’s of football shirts - this boy loves his football!
