Hyrox Cardiff 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

A result isn’t sometimes the reflection of the performance.

I guess that’s a fair reflection in all areas of competitive sport.

Sometimes that can be a negative, other times seen as a positive.

Yeah I didn’t get the time I would’ve hoped..

However, it was my best solo pro performance (according to my finishing Age group category 🏅).

And that also spells the end of my Hyrox season.

4 races this season.

3 pros - 45th, 49th & 40th AG
1 doubles - 15th AG

Highlight obviously getting that sub 60 in London back in December with

A season of growth and learning, with some minor set backs along the way.

But loved mixing it up with the pros.

Plus life outside my hobby has been somewhat exciting.

Ever more staying focussed and positive, which is what we only can control right?

Thanks for everyone’s support along this season.

Please be sure to stick around (if you want) to see what happens next season.

I’ll update you whenever I find the time and effort to post on this platform.

Hyrox Mechelen 🇧🇪

Race debrief (one week on):

Obviously it wasn’t the result I wanted, I’m actually very happy and positive on how the race went. Especially when I broke down the data.

🥈Second fastest pro time
🏅Running and stations was faster compared to my previous pro race

The plan was to keep myself fairly conservative up till the burpees and kick on from there.

Which the strategy was going to plan, right up until the farmers carry. Losing time in that was disappointing, seeing as in training I’ve been going unbroken. However managed to claw something back with a fairly respectable end to the race.

On reflection, taking that the transition zone (roxzone) was massive in comparison to Birmingham, it’s difficult to the compare races.

I’m not beating myself up about the outcome. I’m still new to racing in the pros and feel super privileged to continue participating in this little game of adult PE.

Just a few minor tweaks here and there, plus believing in my own ability rather letting data dictate my race.

As always, massive thank you for everyone’s support and encouragement!

Big thank you to my number one fan for coming along to support as always 💙🩷

Next up: Mixed Doubles 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

We go again….

Running around in circles with my top off for over an hour.

Stronger? Definitely

Fitter? Absolutely

Fred again on repeat in training? Of course

The aim? Sub 72 minutes

Personally, I feel I’ve put lots into this training block and looking forward to seeing what the end result is.

Plus visiting a new city is always a bonus.

Many thanks to everyone in my support circle and the rest of you following along.

Just a quick update on how trainings been going (incase you scally wags thought I’d dropped off a cliff or something)

But random few thoughts I had within my training sessions I thought I’d like to share..

Will this rain ever blinking stop?

Is Michael Carrick the messiah?

Could it be possible to teach a dog to walk like a human?

Is all this hard work & sacrifice going to pay off?

To which I said to myself…

Yes it bloody will. You just haven’t seen it yet.

Stay hydrated kids 💧

Weekly training thoughts/quotes:

“Be with my goals, but flexible/adaptable in my approach”

I wrote this sorta list back at the start of 2024. The goals are different now, but the expectation is always as it will be. Be better than I was.

There other lists in my goals with family, business, finances, development and self growth.

However with my fitness goals, I want to be accountable hence why I’m sharing this with you.

01/01/2026

Now 2025 is in all of our rear view mirrors, just would like to share a quick recap of my 2025, and the ambitions I have for 2026.

Few highlights:

🌍 Got to experience my first earth quake in Cyprus (at first I thought funny business was going on in the room behind us)
🇦🇹 Enjoyed a lovely trip to Vienna
💀 Won the Traitors experience
🦆 Ate some duck and waffle
🥇 Big PBs in my hobby
🏃 Massive coaching success

The reality is……nothing went as planned these 12 months.

And that’s okay. A good lesson learnt from the past, is that never expect everything to go to plan or the way you’d envisioned.

A quote I keep returning too, “Be clear on your goals, but flexible in your approach.”

My ambitions for 2026….

Simply just be better

A better hyrox coach by attending more lectures, courses and investing time learning and not scrolling.
A better person, by treating everyone with the same kind of respect and kindness I would want
Be better at not comparison and focusing at staying in my own lane/journey.

So if being better this year takes me the places I want to go and be within the next 2-3 years, then simply being better will get me there.

🎇Wishing everyone who has read this far, lots of luck, love and good health for the 12 months ahead.

London Hyrox 🇬🇧 - Mixed Doubles

Sub 1 hour in the biggest UK Hyrox ever!

Our first one in the sport!

Finishing 16th in our AG 🔥

Finishing 52nd overall (in the top 2.1%) 🚀

Cracking first run out!

Now we debriefed, we both know we can crack that top 10, and who knows, maybe even higher 👀

Massive thank you to everyone who came out to us on the day (bigger shoutout to the mrs that despite the flu, still came long and supported us every metre of the way).

Huge thank you to Rach too for being an unreal race buddy and setting the super high standards for me to follow!

Weeks recovery before we move onto a big training block over Christmas and New Year for a big 2026!

London Excel Race week is here!! 🇬🇧

Final race/s of the year for myself and the legends who I coach.

Which before I carry on, wanna say a massive thank you to those who have entrusted in me to help them get to this point, and I’m 1000% confident the results will show or have shown your hard work, which I am also grateful for.

Onto this week…

We have 3 races to watch out for this weekend.

On Sunday, Vicki takes part in her first solo hyrox on British shores, hoping to break the 2 hour 10 target we have set for her.

Dan returns to doubles racing with a new partner on the back of his huge PB race in Birmingham, with not too long after competing in the mixed relay with Claire, Maxine and Jo (the builder we call him).

Then Saturday afternoon, 3:30pm me & hit the floor in our first mixed doubles race together. The expectations is to get under 1 hour, with the view of punching our ticket for the world championships next June in Stockholm 🇸🇪 .

Then this brought me to a moment of reflection. This is the race is a full circle moment. Flooding your feeds with me running round in circles topless (the mrs has never complained).

Never would have I imagined 3 years on, I would be seeking and competing for a chance to qualify for the world championships. What once was an aspiration, is now an expectation to me.

Whether me and Rach do it in this race or the next, for me personally, to expect the highest standards for myself, as a human being and an athlete, is something I’m genuinely proud of within myself. One I know my dear old Nan will be looking down on with a smile.

And that’s what qualifying for a world championships means to me. Not to seek sponsorships, fame, wealth or any form of recognition.

It’s about self pride and leaving a family legacy!

Time to get the job done!
