Most people think lifting weights is about looking a certain way.

It isn’t. The best reasons to pick up a barbell have nothing to do with the mirror.

You don’t need to live in the gym to train for a longer, stronger life.

A new 30-year study followed nearly 150,000 people. The takeaway is simpler than most fitness advice you’ll ever read.

Here’s what regular strength training was linked to:

→ 13% lower risk of dying early from any cause
→ 19% lower risk from heart disease and stroke
→ Around 90 minutes to two hours a week is the sweet spot
→ Going past two hours didn’t add more benefit
→ Best results of all came from strength PLUS a bit of cardio

Read that again. Two proper sessions a week. Kept up over time. That’s the bit that actually moves the dial.
