• A jumper or warm clothing
• A water bottle
• Closed-in shoes
• A groin guard (if you have one)

Our team put on a series of soft kit training demonstrations, showcasing sword and shield drills, footwork, defensive techniques, and controlled sparring.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, cheered us on, and supported our team. We loved sharing our passion for the sport with the Illawarra community.

What a fantastic day at the markets yesterday!
☀️⚔️

With beautiful weather by the waterfront, the Manticores had an amazing time sharing our passion for medieval combat with the Illawarra community.

All of our new members got to kit up in armour for the very first time and proudly show the Illawarra who the Manticores are. We held armour repair demonstrations, talked about weapons and shields, showcased soft kit training, and enjoyed meeting so many wonderful people throughout the day.

We sold a ton of merchandise, welcomed some new members to the team, and had plenty of great conversations with locals who were curious about our sport and community.

A special thank you to the generous Illawarra local who gifted Harry a helm — what an incredible and thoughtful gesture!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, showed their support, asked questions, and helped make the day such a success. It was a fun-filled day beside the waterfront, and we can't wait to do it all again soon! 🛡️🧡⚔️

Another fantastic training session last night, with a strong focus on striking, defensive movements, and offensive combinations. It's great to see everyone developing their skills, supporting one another, and continuing to improve each week.

We participate in Buhurt — a full-contact medieval combat sport fought in authentic steel armour using historically inspired weapons.
Our mission is to develop skilled fighters, promote historical martial arts, and build a strong community around medieval combat in Australia.
