Life Remixed has been nominated for two awards, and I'm still taking it in.

I built this programme after losing everything and having to work out how to start again. It grew out of what I lived through, then became something I could hand to other people. Coaches and leaders who wanted a clearer way to understand themselves and their teams.

This week it's been put forward for two:

Most Innovative Institute Approved Programme, which recognises fresh thinking that delivers real value.

Leadership Excellence Award for Organisation, which recognises leadership that creates positive change.

I'm grateful for it. The work is being seen by people who set the standard in this space, and that matters when what you built started as a way to save your own life.

This nomination belongs to everyone who has sat in a session or trusted the process when things felt messy. You made it real.

If you'd like to bring this work into your organisation, or train as an E-Colours Practitioner, send me a message or email [email protected].

How many near misses does it take before something actually changes?

A recent prosecution followed an incident in which two people were injured around moving plant and an unstable stockpile.

What makes the learning even more important is that there had already been an earlier near miss involving the same equipment.

The warning was there.

Reporting a near miss is not the finish line. It is the start of the responsibility to learn.

Leaders need to ask:

* What did this expose?
* What needs to change?
* Who owns the action?
* How will we check that the risk has genuinely reduced?
* Have we explained the change to the people doing the work?

Psychological safety helps people speak up.

Just Culture helps us understand what happened fairly.

Human factors help us recognise why the decision or behaviour made sense at the time.

Leadership turns that learning into action.

Different personalities may notice, communicate and challenge risk differently. That is why intentional communication matters - but every voice must be heard and every warning must lead somewhere.

If you want to develop stronger risk awareness, communication and decision-making across your teams, our Equilibria E-Colours safety and leadership training is available now.

If you missed the session on personality and safety, it is now up to rewatch.

Lewis Senior and I sat down with StepChange in Safety to look at how our natural tendencies shape the way we handle lifting, working at height and dropped objects. Not the kit. Not the procedure. The person carrying it out.

We covered the IOGP Life-Saving Rules, then walked through real events where the same risk was read completely differently by two people on the same job. One saw a problem coming. One did not. The difference came down to natural tendencies, and how each person processes risk under pressure.

The point of the session is simple. When you understand your primary and secondary E-Colours, and those of the people around you, you communicate risk better and you reduce the room for human error.

It runs just under an hour. Worth it if you lead a team in a high-risk setting, or you are the one doing the work.

Back to school isn’t just a change for the kids it changes the whole family dynamic.

Different children respond to school very differently.

One wants to know exactly what’s happening. Another can’t wait to see their friends. One might worry quietly, while another just wants to get out of the door and get on with it.

And sometimes, as parents, we support our children in the way we would want to be supported rather than the way they need.

That’s where understanding personality can really help.

This week, try one simple thing: instead of asking, “How was school?”, ask, “What was the best part of your day?” What did you learn? How can I support you?

You might be surprised how much more you discover.

Do you ever look at someone in your family and think… “I'm not sure how we're related?” 😂

We love our families, but that doesn’t mean we always understand them.

Our E-Colours Family Day will help change that, we’re going to help you understand why you think, communicate and react differently and, importantly, why the people closest to you do too.

Why does one person need all the details, while another just wants to get on with it? Why does one want to talk everything through, while someone else needs space?

It’s fun, practical and genuinely useful.

So come along, discover your E-Colours and maybe finally understand your family a little better!

Join us on 19th September in Claygate myself and Lewis Senior

Back at Walton & Hersham FC today for the game against Dorking (Surrey Derby). A fast start from the Swans, although it’s now 1-1! ⚽️🔴⚪️

Great to be back at the club and continuing conversations about how I might support its future development.

We’re exploring opportunities around coaching and personal development for the everyone, alongside sponsorship, business development and wider community support.

There is so much potential here, both on and off the pitch. Football clubs can play a huge role in bringing people, businesses and communities together, and I’m enthused to see where these conversations might lead.

For now, come on you Swans! 🦢
