☕👹🫖👿Having tea with our demons. Turns out it brings calm .
I said to a client recently,
"While things feel heavy,
Might as well
Befriend the heaviness,
While continuing to search
For lightness and ease."
When we stop fighting
With "what is"
A calm comes over us.
You might wonder
Does she mean giving up?
But that's not it.
Leaning into discomfort
Is an active deed.
Surrender
To something bigger
Is a
Deliberate choice,
While giving up
Is a passive mindset.
Which areas of your life
Currently ask for "leaning in"?
To stop 'going against',
To stop 'fighting'.
But instead
To allow it to be,
For now,
No matter how unpleasant
Or unwelcome.
To sit with it.
Kindly,
Compassionately.
Invite the 'demons'
For a cup of tea.
See what they've
Got to say.
Leaning in
Instead of fighting
Makes the here and now
More do-able,
More manageable,
Less exhausting.
Befriending brings calm.
When we give
Ourselves a breather,
To just be
Amongst the chaos;
A space opens up
Where we can rest.
Take a little pause,
And feel a soft kindness
Nourish our battered souls.
And in that
Compassionate space
We can be with our fears
And they will
Start to shift.
A new way of being,
Different solutions,
Fresh ideas
Will start to arise.
And that
Is what I offer
In my sessions:
A compassionate space
Where fears lessen
And solutions arise.
Take a rest,
Befriend the demons
Of self-doubt, failure,
Rejection or guilt,
All their different
Scary faces.
Tell yourself,
This too shall pass.
And please know
That I believe in you.
With love,
Karin
