Well done to the Eagles players, Luke, Jake & Sean and management, Sam, up in Hawick, Scotland at the weekend in a 34 vs 28 triumph. Well done to all the South of England squad and to Scotland Bravehearts. Good to renew some old friendships between the South of England and Scotland R.L. Everyone looks forward to the return match next year.

Well done to players: Luke, Jake, Sean and Paddy, being selected for the Mens South of England Community R.L team in their Representative game vs Australian & NZ Exiles at the weekend. Also well done to adult coach of the year, Ozzy, in the London & East Mens Premier League in being selected for the coaching team and Sam Gostelow in being selected in the backroom staff. Also a shout out, to former Eagles player Leon Bird now with Hammersmith, who returned to play a few games this season for the Eagles and who still volunteers to coach the junior girls section of the Eagles club. The 'South' came up just short, with a 22 vs 12 defeat, with many New Representative players given their first start for the region, struggling to find rhythm at first but finishing strongly, ahead of matches in Hawick vs Scotland Bravehearts (17th October) and in Mertyr Tydfil (31st October).

Well to done all that received their nominations and the people behind the nominees at the London R.L Community Awards last night from all the Clubs. It was a good night for the Eagles to finish off its 45th Year Celebrations. by receiving 'Club' of the year, which was received by Head of Women & Girls, Rosie Cairns & Kevin Rudd... after years of consistency with volunteers supporting the club and Regional representative matches/festivals/carnivals and schools events. Mens Coach Ozzy (a former junior from the club), took Adult Coach of the Year on behalf of his coaching team, after Winning the London & Eastern Mens Premier for the first time for the club, after 10 years of steady development. Luke Drummond picked up Mens player of the year, having guided the team around the pitch for every possible minute in every possible game during the season, after serving the club for 16years, since being a junior with the Eagles. Both have been selected for London and now South of England Community Mens teams. Local school teacher, Rob Hughes was awarded Junior Coach of the year.. sadly he couldn't attend due to being on a school field trip !! After 17 years of continuous Community R.L. coaching at the Eagles.. he finally steered the U16boys to his first ever championship in an unbeaten season as Head Coach of an age group, so is pictured with Myles Fredericks, whom earlier in the season picked up U16boys player of the season. Its not easy for any volunteer led community club to consistently participate in R.L.. but the club hit a 'sweet spot' this year, when the 'stars aligned'. Special thanks to Kieran for arranging the first 'Eaglets Toddlers group' picnics. Special thanks also go to St Marys University for being brilliant hosts to the club this season.

Well done to all the players selected for what is planned to be a regular, annual end of season Representative Men's R.L. fixture, to celebrate community R.L. Well done to all those volunteer leaders and community club administrators in making it all happen. Congratulations to the Eagles who have made the squad. It promises to be another fast, physical and skillful R.L match, all R.L supporters welcomed. Following this match, a South of England squad will be selected to go and take on Scotland Bravehearts 17th October in Hawick and Wales 'A' on 31st October in Merthyr.

Following on from the recent Men’s & the Women and Girls Awards for the club. The Eagles finally caught up with concluding their end of season Junior Awards recently, as the different junior sections of the club brought their R.L seasons to a conclusion, with just the men to finish off their Rep season!!

What a fantastic 45th Year Celebration for the Club it’s been, at the oldest Community R.L Club in London. Well done to the players in receiving Awards, but also well done to all their team mates and all the parents in supporting their kids. With a ‘big thankyou’ to the volunteers ‘in the spot light’, as well as ‘in the engine room’, that make it all possible. We look forward to everyone coming back next season, as well as inviting New members and volunteers to discover Rugby League in the region.
