“Every gym in the area is the same.”

Let us tell you what’s actually here.

Over 250 pieces of equipment. More than any gym in the area.

Full free weights section.

Full cable section.

A cardio bank that doesn’t have a queue at 6pm.

A functional zone with sleds, sandbags, and turf.

A rower, a ski erg, a HYROX training setup.

FightLab upstairs with boxing for adults and juniors.

XLAB through the doors for CrossFit.

That doesn’t exist anywhere else within twenty miles.

Some gyms are cheaper. Some are closer. But same? No.

Come and walk through it. Then decide.

One review. From Kate, who's been training with us for nearly a year.

"I've been training at FitLab for nearly a year now, and I honestly don't recognise some of the negative reviews.

For me, it's by far the best gym in Worthing.

It's great value for money, in a really convenient location, and opens early enough that I can get my training done before work.

The gym is always clean (probably one of the cleanest gyms I've trained in), the equipment is well looked after, there's a good range of cardio machines, and the free weights area has everything I need.

The staff have always been friendly whenever I've spoken to them. It's never too busy either. Everyone keeps themselves to themselves, no large groups hogging equipment.

Can pretty much use any of the equipment whenever I need it.

My only suggestion would be to stay open a little later on Saturdays."

Thanks Kate. Genuinely. The Saturday hours point is fair, and something we'll take a proper look at.

If you've been on the fence about joining, this is the kind of gym we're trying to be.

Upstairs from the gym floor. Quiet during the day. Loud most nights.

This is FightLab. Proper boxing, in a proper room, with proper coaches.

Adults and juniors. Beginners who've never thrown a punch and fighters who've done it a hundred times. Nobody gets in your way. Nobody makes you feel like you shouldn't be here.

If you've been curious about boxing but haven't found the right room to start, this is it.

Fighter strong.

Hammer Strength Chest Press. Chest, front delts, triceps.

One of the most underrated machines on the floor. People walk past it because it looks more complicated than it is.

What it does. A plate-loaded chest press with independent arms, so each side works on its own. That means your stronger side can’t take over from your weaker one, which makes it brilliant for evening out imbalances alongside a bench press.

How to set up.
· Seat height so the handles line up with your mid-chest at the start position, not your collarbone
· Feet flat on the floor, back and shoulders in contact with the pad
· Grip firm but not white-knuckle
· Load one plate at a time on each side to start
What to feel. The pressure should sit across the middle of your chest. If it creeps into your shoulders or neck, the seat is almost always too low.

Common mistakes.
· Seat too low, so you press upward instead of forward
· Locking the elbows out hard at the top of every rep
· Letting the elbows flare too wide (adds strain on the shoulder joint)
· Loading uneven weight side to side

A good starting point. Three sets of 10 to 12 at a weight you could do 15 with. Progress from there.

Every kind of strong.
