Last week HMPS RFC took on Leicester Thursday RFC at Newbold on Avon RFC.

It was the first fixture in just over a year, well attended by 27 players representing 17 different establishments across England and Wales.

The first 15 minutes were extremely chaotic as you could imagine having limited time together but the lads rallied well in the second half and were unfortunately on the receiving end of a 38-12 defeat.

Prior to the game starting, all players paid respect to a member of staff from HMP Cardiff who recently took his own life.
