Tragically, following a fall, former Leicester Thursday and Belgrave Rugby Football Club player Dave Manship suffered a devastating spinal injury which has left him paralysed from the waist down and only 50% function in his hands.

Success in our first game of the season as we ran out 59-21 winners against Vipers Rugby Football Club.

Well done to all the lads who donned the famous shirt. 13 Leicestershire sides were represented and there was a fantastic atmosphere amongst the troops.

For the first time in Season 2026-2027, here is the Leicester Thursday squad to face Vipers RFC on Wednesday evening - 7.45pm kick off.

10+ Leicestershire sides are represented in the squad with a mixture of young, old and very old donning the famous jersey.

Our poster boys this evening are two of our Leadership Team - Steve Harvey and Badger Dan. Both were ever present last season and played a big part in the relaunch of Leicester Thursday.

Tonight’s featured player is Oadby Wyggs stalwart Sam Allardyce. Sam has played across the front row for Thursday and provided the comedy moment of last season when he stole Luke Coltman gym shorts and played in them against the Prison Service.
