Sporting Rugby Raiders 🆚 Wellesbourne Galaxy

What a way to get the new season underway! 🙌⚽️

After a summer of hard work, the boys finally got back out on the pitch and it was fantastic to see all that training starting to show!

Over the summer we’ve been working hard on passing, movement and always making sure there’s an option available — and the boys put all of this into practice today.

There were some fantastic passing moves, brilliant through balls and plenty of positive movement throughout the game. The boys also worked incredibly hard defensively, winning some excellent tackles and showing great determination.

There were lots of chances on goal and plenty to celebrate! Most importantly, the boys worked together, encouraged each other and showed a fantastic attitude from start to finish.

There’s lots to be proud of and plenty of positives to take forward as we continue to build throughout the season. 💙

Saturday Morning Match Report

Sporting Rugby Raiders U14 0–3 Wellesbourne Hurricanes U14

Sporting Rugby Raiders returned to action on Saturday morning, putting in a determined performance despite a 3–0 defeat to a strong Wellesbourne Hurricanes side.

Raiders found themselves under pressure early on as the visitors raced into a 2–0 lead. The score could have been far worse if not for Ollie, who pulled off a string of outstanding saves to keep Sporting firmly in the game. As the first half progressed, Raiders grew in confidence, began passing the ball well and created several promising attacks, testing the Wellesbourne goalkeeper with some excellent efforts on target.

The second half was a much more even contest, with both teams playing positive football and creating chances. Wellesbourne eventually added a third goal, while another of their efforts was ruled out. Sporting continued to battle until the final whistle, showing great character and producing some impressive passages of play.

The final score may not have gone Raiders’ way, but the commitment, resilience and improvement throughout the match were clear positives to take into the next fixture.

We will be in Rugby town centre tomorrow visiting businesses to see if there are any more takers.
