Little bit of Muscle Up action from the big man, the key elements here are:

- Pulling upward and ‘outward’ to create optimum angle
- Propelling head and Torso forward at the top
- Stable Elbows above Wrists for press #
- First pull must be with AS MUCH I’M POWER as possible
- …….kip when necessary 😂

Due to the crucial element of Power for this lift to be successful, training should reflect this, therefore in conjunction with his Splits Mobility work, we now introduce 85-90% load ranges in his upper body pull work.

The amount of Nerve signalling we can train into his pulling Muscles - alongside his bodyweight staying at the lower end of his optimum spectrum - will be a very big part of this movement entering his gymnast arsenal or not. Which it will

How long did it take the Gymnasts or Cali guys out there to hit your first Muscle Up?

Lower back ache. Stiff hips. Shoulders that never quite feel right. Most people manage these things or try to learn to live with them - painkillers, foam rolling, the occasional sports massage. All are useful. But none of them address what's usually going on underneath. Most chronic stiffness and pain is rooted in joints that have lost range of motion and the control that goes with it. Your body responds to that by tightening up, guarding, compensating. Kinstretch works directly with the joint - rebuilding the range and the active control that holds it. It's not a quick fix. But it gets to the root in a way that most things don't.

Visit us in Penryn, Cornwall. Try it, and all our other classes, for 14 days for just £14.

To find out more about the wonders of Kinstretch, and why we are the first to bring it to the South West - read our article "What Is Kinstretch – And Why Does It Matter?" on our website - visit our Blog section. 🙌

Let's talk about Kinstretch - Functional Mobility. It is the most misunderstood class on our timetable. People hear "mobility" and assume it's a gentle wind-down. Something to do on a rest day, maybe. Kinstretch is none of those things. It's a science-backed method that trains every joint to move through its full intended range - with strength and control at every point in that range. Not passive flexibility. Active, usable movement that your body can actually access when it counts. The pace is slow. The focus is intense. And most people find it significantly harder than they expected. We'd love you to try it - and your body would too. Link in bio. 👊

Lifting weights and building muscle for the long term aren't automatically the same thing.

Effective Strength & Conditioning sessions *should* be doing two jobs at once - but most gym programming only delivers one of them. Not at TMP though!

The first is skill acquisition. Teaching your nervous system new movement patterns through deliberate, coached repetition.

The second is the preservation signal. And this is key. It's the specific mechanical input - tension, control, contraction - that tells your body to hold onto muscle instead of breaking it down.

Get the coaching right on both, and it's the difference between just getting tired and results that actually compound - especially if you're in a calorie deficit, where muscle is usually the first thing to go without the right signal.

We've broken down exactly how this works, how you can get the best results from your S&C training, and how our S&C classes connect with the rest of the TMP system, in our latest article. Read on our website - head to the Blog section.

Quick myth bust for a Friday.

Your core is not your six-pack. Your core is the whole system that keeps you stable - front, back, sides, deep.

And if your back aches, your lifts feel shaky, or you get tired holding any position for more than 30 seconds - your core is probably part of the reason.

That's what our Core class at The Movement Project is actually for. Not crunches for aesthetics. Stability for everything else.

📅 Core - find it every week at TMP.

One of those classes that makes every other class better - that's how we've designed EVERY class to be at TMP. 💡
