The perfect workout plan isn’t much use if it doesn’t fit your life.

Work, family, holidays and busy weeks are all part of reality. That’s why a sustainable routine matters more than trying to follow an extreme programme perfectly.

Find something you enjoy, make it manageable and give yourself time to build the habit.

Fitness should become part of your life — not take it over.

Do you ever step out of the car after a long journey and feel like your body needs a moment to get moving again?

Spending a long time in one position can leave your hips, back and legs feeling stiff. Regular movement, mobility work and strength training can help keep your body moving comfortably and confidently.

Your body was made to move, so give it plenty of opportunities to do just that.

You do not need the perfect routine to make progress.

A short workout, a daily walk or a few minutes of movement still counts. What matters is finding something realistic that fits your life and continuing to show up.

Small actions repeated consistently can lead to meaningful, lasting change.

At Transform PT, we help you build a routine that works for your goals, ability and lifestyle.

Three simple ways to support a stronger, healthier back:

1. Change positions regularly
2. Strengthen your core and hips
3. Keep your body moving

Back discomfort does not always mean you should stop moving completely. Regular movement and appropriately programmed strength training can help your body become more resilient and make everyday activities feel easier.

Start gradually and work within a comfortable range. Persistent, severe or worsening pain should always be assessed by a healthcare professional.

Why is strength training especially important after 45?

As we get older, maintaining muscle, strength and bone health becomes increasingly important. Regular strength training can help you:

• Stay strong for everyday activities
• Support healthier bones and joints
• Improve balance and stability
• Maintain mobility and independence
• Keep enjoying the activities you love

You do not need previous gym experience or heavy weights to begin. The right programme should start at your current level and progress gradually.

DM us if you’d like to find out more about our strength training programmes at Transform PT.

Life happens. Work gets busy, plans change and sometimes a workout is missed.

That does not mean you have failed or lost the progress you have already made. There is no need to punish yourself or double your next session. Simply return to your usual routine when you can.

Long-term progress is built by what you do consistently, not by being perfect every day.

Healthy eating does not need to be complicated.

A balanced meal can include a good source of protein, colourful vegetables, carbohydrates for energy and a small amount of healthy fat.

You do not need every meal to be perfect. Focus on simple, balanced choices that suit your lifestyle and can be maintained long term.

Small improvements made consistently can support your energy, recovery and overall wellbeing.

Feeling stiff through your back after sitting or staying in one position for too long?

Gentle movement and stretching can help you explore a comfortable range of motion and reduce everyday stiffness. Move slowly, breathe normally and never force a position.

Remember that stretching is only one part of looking after your back. Regular movement and appropriately programmed strength training are also important.

Stop if a movement causes pain. Persistent, severe or worsening back pain should be assessed by a healthcare professional.
