Doors open.

Another day at my little studio near Hove Station.

The question is...

When is your name going to appear in my diary?

If you've been thinking about getting started, this is your sign.

Drop me a message.

MONDAY.

A fresh week.
A fresh chance.
A fresh opportunity to do something that your future self will thank you for.

You don't need to be perfect this week.

Just move a little more.
Drink a little more water.
Get a little more sleep.
Make one better choice than you did last week.

Small actions repeated consistently will always beat big plans that never get started.

Make this week count.

Martin

DM me if you'd like a little help getting started.

Sunshine seems to do something funny to motivation...

Every year, as the weather improves, the heavier coats come off, the evenings get longer, and people start thinking about themselves again. Their health. Their fitness. Their confidence.

Here are the numbers across the studio during this Accountability Week.:

- 42cm lost
- 18cm gained where strength, muscle and confidence were the goal
- 21kg lost
- 4kg gained
- 23 sessions completed
- 3 new client assessments
- 2 returning clients taking the first steps back towards their goal.

The thing I love about these numbers is that they all tell a different story.

Not everybody comes to lose weight.

Some are building strength.
Some are improving mobility.
Some are rebuilding confidence.
Some are preparing for surgery.
Some simply want more energy to keep up with their children and grandchildren.

Whatever the goal, progress is progress.

The better weather has definitely brought a fresh wave of motivation through the studio, and it's fantastic to see people taking action rather than waiting for the "perfect time" to start.

The truth is, there is still plenty of time to make meaningful progress before summer is in full swing.

Whether your goal is weight loss, building strength, moving without pain, improving confidence, or simply having more energy for your family, the hardest part is often taking that first step.

I still have some availability remaining this month, but as always, spaces are limited.

If you've been thinking about getting started, drop me a message and let's have a chat about what you're trying to achieve.

No pressure. No gimmicks. Just honest support and a plan that works around real life.

June is here.

The evenings are lighter, the weather is improving, and families are naturally spending more time outdoors.

But here's a question...

What example are you setting for the next generation?

As parents, children often learn more from what we do than what we say.

If they see us making time for our health, moving more, and looking after ourselves, they're far more likely to grow up with those same habits.

That's one of the reasons I offer a range of family-friendly training options from my private studio near Hove Station.

❤️ Parent-Only Personal Training

Train while your younger child stays safely with you in the studio. No childcare juggling. No crowded gym.

❤️ Child-Only Personal Training (Ages 8+)

Helping children build confidence, coordination, and a positive relationship with exercise in a safe and supportive environment.

❤️ Parent & Child Training (Ages 8+)

Train together, encourage each other, and share the journey. Some of my favourite sessions of the week.

❤️ Family Fitness Sessions (Up To 5 People)

Because exercise doesn't always have to feel like exercise. Sometimes it's simply about spending quality time together while being active.

The summer holidays will be here before we know it.

The habits you start building in June could make a huge difference to how you feel by the time they arrive.

If you've been thinking about getting started, improving your confidence, or simply finding a way to become more active as a family, now is a great time to take that first step.

Drop me a message if you'd like to see what options might work best for you.

Has this sudden hot weather brought emotions to the surface that you thought you'd buried away over winter?

The panic about summer clothes.
Avoiding mirrors.
Feeling uncomfortable in outfits you used to wear confidently.
Cancelling plans because you “don’t feel ready”.
Comparing yourself to everybody else the second the sun comes out.

You're not alone.

For many people, warmer weather doesn’t just bring sunshine…
It brings pressure.

Pressure to look a certain way.
Pressure to feel confident.
Pressure to suddenly become the version of yourself you’ve been putting off working on.

But here’s the important part…

There is still plenty of time to take back some control before summer fully kicks in.

Not through crash diets.
Not through punishment.
Not through extremes.

Just small, realistic steps that help you feel stronger, healthier, more confident, and more comfortable within yourself again.

Sometimes the hardest part is simply starting.

If this heat has triggered that little voice in your head saying “enough is enough”… maybe it’s time to listen to it.

With it being so hot again, I thought I’d throw this reminder back out there…

Drink some water!!
---
Honestly, most people walk around dehydrated and don’t even realise it.

Feeling tired?
Headache?
Foggy?
Grumpy?
Low energy?
Struggling in training?

Sometimes it’s not complicated…

You simply haven’t drunk enough water.
---
And kids are even worse for it.

Running around in this weather, sweating loads, then saying they’re “fine” while surviving off ice cream and half a carton of apple juice.
---
Water helps with:
💧 Energy
💧 Focus
💧 Recovery
💧 Digestion
💧 Temperature control
💧 Performance
💧 Mood
---
Simple stuff.
But important stuff.
---
One thing I always try to encourage with families is making water normal.

Not a punishment.
Not “the healthy option.”

Just a part of everyday life.
---
Especially in weather like this:
💧 Keep a bottle nearby
💧 Drink before you feel thirsty
💧 Increase intake if you’re training
💧 Keep an eye on the kids when they’re out playing for hours
---
The basics still matter most.

Sleep.
Movement.
Fresh air.
Decent food.
Water.
---
Simple habits done consistently usually beat extreme approaches every single time.
---
So… be honest…

How much water have you actually drunk today?

Martin.

⚠️ SCAM WARNING ⚠️

“Guaranteed Results.”

It’s one of the oldest tricks in the fitness industry.

For years, companies have used those words to pull people into buying products, programmes, supplements, and shortcuts they’ve never even tried before.

Truthfully?
Years ago, I probably used similar language myself.

But over 20 years in the fitness industry — combined with real life experience — teaches you something very important...

No trainer, gym, programme, supplement, or “miracle fix” can guarantee results for anyone.

Because results come from consistency.
From effort.
From commitment.
From action.

As a Personal Trainer, I can guide you.
I can support you.
I can adapt things around injuries, confidence issues, family life, stress, work schedules, and all the barriers life throws at people.

But I can’t do the work for you.

Walking through the gym door or booking a PT session at my Private Studio in Hove is a huge first step — and one you should be proud of — but it’s still only the beginning.

The reality is simple:

You can only truly help someone who is ready to help themselves.

That doesn’t mean perfection is required.
Far from it.

It means showing up.
Trying again.
Learning from setbacks instead of quitting because of them.

Over the years, I’ve learnt that most barriers can be worked around when the right support and mindset are in place.

That’s why I don’t believe in quick fixes.
I believe in building something sustainable.

And if I genuinely feel I’m not the right coach for somebody, I’ll happily point them towards someone who is.

Because this industry should be about helping people properly — not selling false promises.

So if you're ready to put genuine effort into becoming fitter, healthier, stronger, and more confident in yourself again...

Get in touch.

I’d love to help you get there.

Martin.

There is one thing I loved seeing during Accountability Week last week and thats Everybody’s reason for training is different.

For some, it’s weight loss and for a few it's about gaining.

For others, it’s confidence building.
More energy.
Better mental health.
Strength.
Routine.
Feeling comfortable in their own skin again.

And every single goal deserves support.

Because progress isn’t always measured on the scales.

Sometimes progress is simply showing up again and again, for yourself and those who love you..

So start where you are — not where you think you should be..
Drop me a message and let's talk.

Martin
