Super happy to give his first stripe. After about 50 hours of 1-1’s and 20 hours of sparring - all on the solid ground no mats he stood the course .
Put in a good two hour session with him today with pretty much non stop 10 minute rounds after a knowledge test tbf he smashed it. ‘You’ve taken the first step into a wider world ‘

Coming up to 47 and still in fairly good nick.
For me it’s not really about aesthetics- I’d train every day even if I were the last man on earth as I like feeling strong and capable .

But there is a stark point when you get older in your 40’s and you look around - you can see the choices people have made in their bodies over the last couple of decades. I’ve got friends who look as good as in their 20’s and those who are already suffering with mobility and health issues .

A decent physique in your late 40’s doesn’t just mean that person is healthier - it means they’ve consistently dedicated themselves to something even when it’s got tough, to me it’s a measure of character.

The good news is it’s never too late. Even if you’ve met things slide for years - it is never too late to start making a change.
It doesn’t need to be all or nothing either - no one wants to live like a monk (well maybe apart from monks) but I certainly don’t .

As I say though it’s never too late to start - I’ve seen people in their mid seventies make great changes in their health and physique - it’s slower but still worth the effort 💪🏼

There’s a reason diet apps don’t work in the long term for fat loss .
Everybody is different - requires different calorific settings at different times during the process of trying to get in shape. They don’t adjust - just remain static , and so so does your fat loss after a certain point.
