Surprise!! 🙋🏽‍♀️ (not really)

I am now coaching full time out of 🤸🏽‍♀️
Many of you already know I have been coaching here on a PAYG basis for a while now, so it was time for me to transition fully here.
This place has been my home for more than 8 years - it was the place I started taking my fitness journey seriously, the place that introduced me to calisthenics and the place that inspired me to do my PT course in the first place. I am excited to now call this my home in even more ways and level up my clients’ training further.

I would like to thank Levels Fitness Studio and PRFRM Brighton for transforming me into the person I am today, both professionally and personally, and for 6 years of fun, laughter and community.
As sad as it is to end a chapter, I’m excited for what’s to come and to put even more time into coaching calisthenics and helping even more of you achieve everything you’ve ever wanted.

Now with increased capacity, I will be opening up 3 slots for 1:1, 2:1 or small group coaching in the month of April.

🤸🏽‍♀️Visual feedback🤸🏽‍♀️

Filming yourself in the gym is not just for the sake of vanity (..well not always 😜). Having visual feedback of your movement allows you to improve your form by linking the feeling to how it actually looks.

In regard to handstands this is even more important. Being upside down already makes spacial orientation harder and throws your brain off (you know that feeling when your coach tells you to tuck your bum in so you stick it out instead 😂).
This is because we relate where we are to our surroundings and gravitational pull (I can go further into this in a future post).

So if you can’t quite work out what your legs should be doing or where you are in space, I encourage you to:
• record yourself next time you’re training your handstands
• watch back each rep
• try to connect what you felt with what you now see

That way you know, for example, you need to bend your back leg more, apply that to your next rep and watch again to see if that fixed it and what else needs adjusting (step by step, in little digestible chunks).

Whatever femininity means to you, if you choose to celebrate, do so with pride. Own your true self and support others in doing the same.

Let this be your reminder to take up space, use your voice, and never shrink to make others comfortable or to fit someone else’s expectations.

Be bold. Be loud. Be your true self.

This is your sign to start your handstand journey in 2024! 👀

If you’ve been considering trying handstands for a while but don’t know where to start, or you can’t seem to hold a one off the wall, or if you simply fancy learning a new skill this is for you.

We will go through correct handstand form, how to bail safely so you can ditch the wall, and exercises and drills to make you stronger for a longer hold.
