Back out in seaton around the golf course and dunes this morning. It seems to have been a while since we've used this route with targeting the recent HM. We'll be using more off road routes on Sundays from today 🙌 😊

Our next member profiles is from Nikki 💪💪
1. What made you join our club?
I was already doing a bit of running before I joined. I met Dom and he recommended the group as he was already going and I wanted to get into more of a routine of running and keeping fit

2. What have we helped you to achieve?
Since joining I have finally achieved my target of a sub 30 minute 5k and running regular 10kms. I also have ran my first Half Marathon this year - which I swore I'd never do when I first started but am so glad the group inspired and encouraged me to do it as I'm so proud of myself, it's not something I'd ever thought I'd be able to achieve.

3. What keeps you coming back?
The group is so welcoming and I've made so many friends through it. Everyone is so nice!

4. What does group running give you that solo running doesnt?
I've always been a solo runner but with group running it's nice to have the company and to chat as you're running, especially if you're doing an easy run, it makes the time go quicker. I've also found when I was starting to do longer runs, having someone with you to pace you really helps too!

5. What would you say to someone just like you who was thinking of joining:
I would say do it! Without the group I don't think I'd have loved running as much as I do now and I don't think I'd have achieved as much as I have either!

6. Favourite running snack?
Weirdly I don't snack when running, maybe it's because I do more road running than trails so it's gels I usually take 😅

7. Favourite running shoe?
I absolutely love my Saucony Rides. I currently have the Ride 18s and they're like running on clouds!

What's your favourite Park Run?
A nice collection of different Park Run venues today for some of our runners. Plus some of our C25k group were inspired to do the Hartlepool one today as well 💪💪💪

The first of our member profiles is from Lilly 💪😊 We've asked a handful of the same questions to a few of our runners and we'll share them over the next week or so

1. What made you join our club?
I moved to the area and didn't know where good running routes were. I didn't know the areas to avoid or might not be the safest to run solo, so I put out a message on Facebook asking for recommendations for running clubs and I found HAC! I was also training for a marathon, and struggling with motivation and discipline, so I really wanted to join a club where I could keep myself accountable.

2. What have we helped you to achieve?
Since joining, I ran my marathon and as much as it was the hardest thing I've done, and swore I would never do it again - I think the opposite is now true. That is only because I feel I can achieve pretty much anything when the support and advice from the rest of the group is as good as what it is at HAC.

3. What keeps you coming back?
Although I've had to miss the weekday sessions due to new work commitments, I will still join the Sunday group as often as I can. I find it doesn't matter how long you've been away from the group, it always feels very familiar and comfortable when you do come back. Plus the friendships I've made since joining has been nice.

4. What does group running give you that solo running doesnt?
I've always been a solo runner, so initially I felt worried that I wouldn't be any good if I joined a running group. However, it is nothing like that, and it's nice to be around people that encourage you and cheer you on. I still like solo running, but from a safety perspective, I feel more confident having people around me.

5. What would you say to someone just like you who was thinking of joining?
If you're thinking of joining a running club, I would recommend HAC because it doesn't matter what your running capabilities are, the support and encouragement will always be there.

6. Favourite running snack?
Favourite running snack would either be jelly babies or a nice chewy flapjack.

7. Favourite running shoe?
Currently my favourite running shoes are the Brooks hyperion max, but I do also like the Asics gel nimbus.

6am club with Dave 💪💪
We'd love to see some more early risers.
Our Tuesday 930am sessions will return at some point as well, we need to make sure Vikki has recovered enough from an injury sustained at an event earlier in the year.

Do you want to be part of something great? We are always striving to highlight that running clubs can be welcoming and friendly places for anyone regardless, so if you want to run with us, you're welcome, that's it.
Recently we've had targeted groups for brand new runners as well as getting people through a half marathon.
Over the next couple of weeks we'll be highlighting some of our runners, why they joined us and why they still love coming.
