Hi👋 everyone this week in Yoga practice 🧘‍♀️
We turn our attention to the psoas abd the illiacus, both part of the hip flexors that shape how we stand and move. Sitting long-term can pull our pelvis out of alignment affecting our posture, stability and ease of movement.
When they’re tight, we may feel lower‑back tension, hip discomfort, or a sense of being “compressed” through the front body. When they’re released and strengthened, the whole body feels more spacious, grounded, and supported.
A calm, steady practice that supports the lower back, hips, and overall sense of ease in the body.

Hi 👋 everyone yoga!🧘‍♀️

This week in our yoga practice, we’re diving deep into internal and external hip rotation, building strength and mobility where it matters most.
We’ll also focus on glute activation and lower‑back strengthening to support healthy movement on and off the mat.
Come ready to explore, release tension, and build a stronger foundation from the inside out. 🙂🧘‍♀️

Hi 👋 everyone! 🧘‍♀️

🌿 This Week in Yoga: Lower Back, Hips & Hamstrings 🌿

This week we continue our journey through the lower body — giving extra attention to the lower back, hips, and hamstrings. These areas work hard for us every day, and when they become tight or tired, the whole body feels it.

Our practice will focus on slow, steady postures that help improve circulation through the legs, hips, and lower back. Better circulation in these areas can support mobility, ease tension, and may help reduce discomfort linked to sciatica.

Expect gentle opening, mindful stretching, and movements that create space and warmth from the ground up. As always, we’ll move with patience, breath, and awareness — letting the body soften at its own pace.

Hi everyone 🧘‍♂️ ☺️ 👋

🌿 This Week in Yoga: Lower Body Love 🌿

This week we’re giving some extra care to the lower body — moving slowly, breathing deeply, and creating space where we often hold tension.

Our focus will be on gently opening the glutes and lower back, then easing into deeper work for the hamstrings. These areas are so closely connected, and when they soften together, the whole body feels more grounded and supported.

Expect slow, steady stretches, mindful transitions, and plenty of time to explore what feels good in your own body. No rushing, no forcing — just patient opening and lower‑body love.
See you on the mat 🌞✨

Hi everyone 👋 🧘‍♀️

This Weekin yoga Strengthening Wrists, Arms & Balance 🙂

Hello lovely yogis,
This week we continue our focus on wrist and arm support, building the strength and stability needed for confident weight‑bearing in our practice.

We’ll explore movements that:
- Strengthen the wrists, forearms, and shoulders
- Improve joint stability for safer transitions
- Build awareness in the hands and fingers
- Support balancing poses that rely on steady upper‑body engagement

Expect a mix of grounding work, mindful alignment, and playful balance challenges — all offered with options so you can move at your own pace.

Bring your curiosity, your breath, and your beautiful energy.
See you on the mat 🌞✨

Hi 👋 everyone 🧘‍♀️

This Week’s Yoga Focus: Building Towards Shoulderstand (Sarvangasana) 🙂

This week we’re practicing toward inversions, with a special focus on Shoulderstand. Our practice will gently prepare the arms, shoulders, and chest, helping you build the strength, mobility, and confidence needed to explore thisbpose safely. I 🙂

✨ What to Expect in Class
- A gradual warm-up to awaken the arms and shoulder girdle
- Strength-building movements to support the neck and upper back
- Deep, mindful stretches for the chest, shoulders, and upper spine
- Steady breathwork to keep the body grounded and calm
- And yes — we’ll be using straps this week to support alignment, open the shoulders, and make the work feel more accessible

This sequence is all about progress, not perfection. Whether you’re working toward your first inversion or refining your existing practice, there will be plenty of options to meet you exactly where you are. 🙂

Hi👋 everyone yoga 🧘‍♀️

🌿 This Week in Yoga: Gentle Backbends & Opening the Front Body 🌿

This week we’re focusing on backbends — not the dramatic kind, but the steady, spacious, feel‑good kind that open the front of the body and help us breathe more freely.

We’ll be exploring stretches for the chest, ribcage, abdomen, and hips. These areas often hold tension, and when they soften, the spine can lengthen and our posture naturally improves. Although backbends are often thought of as “lower‑back work,” the real magic comes from strengthening and opening the muscles in front of the body. When the chest, ribs, abdomen, and hips are strong and supple, the lower back can finally do its job with ease.

Backbends can also challenge the breathing process — usually because of tightness in various muscles — so we’ll begin gently, with simple standing backbends to prepare the body and build confidence.

Hi 👋 everyone 🧘‍♀️

This week’s yoga practice emphasis on the psoas — that deep, powerful muscle tucked into the abdomen and forming part of the hip flexors. It’s one of the key connectors between the upper and lower body, influencing posture, breath, stability, and even emotional tension.
We’ll explore how to gently release and strengthen this area to support easeful movement and a more grounded sense of balance. Looking forward to guiding you through it.

Yoga classes available in the People centre, Seaton Carew, Greatham community centre and Hart Village hall.
Beginners always welcome 🙏 everyone practice to their own abilities. 🙂🧘‍♂️
