Everyone at Hartlepool Sport sends our deepest condolences to the family and friends of PC Matthew Blades. Our thoughts are also with his colleagues at Cleveland Police at this incredibly difficult time.

📖 Celebrating Louise and her Read and React Walking Quest!

At Hartlepool Sport, our team brings together talent from many different disciplines—and Louise’s story deserves to be highlighted.

When we were invited to join the town’s literacy task force, Louise focused on solutions. Inspired by the choose-your-own-adventure books of the late ’80s and early ’90s, she created an interactive “escape the park” adventure set in Ward Jackson Park.

Her idea impressed the National Literacy Trust, which featured her work and awarded Hartlepool Sport funding to bring the book to life!

Thank you, Louise, for your creativity and incredible efforts this summer. If you haven’t tried the Walking Quest yet, copies are available from Place in the Park.

🎨 A huge thank you to Nicola and Poppy (formerly of The Art of Play)!

They spent the summer reimagining arts and crafts in the great outdoors, bringing fresh and creative experiences to local children.

Their enthusiasm, warmth and smiles drew young people in and made every activity feel exciting and accessible. They are absolutely the right people for the job!

The team have been absolutely fantastic this summer, delivering joyful family yoga sessions filled with music, dancing and bubbles.

The team hosted all of our basketball sessions at the Town Moor this summer—sometimes in some very challenging weather!

Heidi has worked tirelessly alongside us at Ward Jackson Park—coordinating her team, keeping queues moving and making sure there are plenty of refreshments and amazing ice creams available at our biggest events.
