U14 Match Report - 26th April 2026

This weekend we welcomed Ruishton to BCA for our final game of the season.

We went into this game full of confidence from last weekends performance. But we couldn’t have started the game any worse! We conceded two really early goals, after that shock we started to play some really good football and a goal each for Connor and Bailey found us going into half time 2-2. We had a rapid start to the 2nd half and got ourselves in front with some brilliant play to get Bailey his 2nd goal of the game. We controlled the 2nd half really well forcing the Ruishton goalkeeper into some fantastic saves. As the 2nd half continued we probably sat back a little too much and unfortunately in the last few minutes Ruishton grabbed a equaliser.

Full time result 3-3 this really was such a good game of football! We were probably unlucky not to take the 3 points but we cannot fault any of our kids today as they were all excellent!

POTM went to Harry for his 2 assists in the first half and for causing the Ruishton defence problems all afternoon. 💪

U14 Round Up

Our U14s have been in league action over the last couple of weeks against top opposition - here is a roundup of the results.

⚽️On Sunday 12th April the team took a trip to Taunton to face highflying Staplegrove, unfortunately a couple of late drop outs due to illness depleted the squad, so it was a tricky afternoon against a strong Staplegrove team. Despite that the players worked hard to be competitive, but we came away losing the game 11-0. Player of the match went to Conner. A solid midfields performance from defence right through to attack, and he didn't stop running the whole game. Great effort Connor.💪

⚽️Last weekend (19th April) we had another away trip, this time out at Cannington for face Wembdon FC, and what a great game of football it was! Against a team that has finished 2nd in the league this season, we performed so well and took the game to the final whistle. The game ended 3-2 to Wembdon but we as coaches are so proud of our team, and the future is looking really good! Big shout out to Connor and Bailey who both scored absolutely cracking goals, and POTM went to Ollie for putting in a brilliant performance for us. Winning the ball back consistently. And being really composed under pressure. 💪

⚽️ This weekend we finish our 2025/2026 league season with a HOME fixture versus Ruishton FC, 12:30 KO at BCA. Lets get that deserved win to finish the season on a high.

U13 Round Up

Our U13s played their final league game of the 2025/2026 season in the glorious sunshine at BCA on Saturday Morning.

After a slow start we found ourselves 2-0 down against FC Rhinos, however the boys fought back, having much more of play in the latter stages of the first half pulling the game back to 2-1. However a few more defensive errors cost us in the second half with FC Rhinos going on to win the game 6-1.

Despite the result the team continue to play football in the right spirit, working together and supporting each other, and in the first season on full size pitches with full size goals we are all super proud of how they have all developed individually and together as a team.

We would like to thank all the hard work, time and effort that our U13 coaches Matt and Martyn put in all year round. 👏🙌

Match Round Up 4th/5th April - A word from our Coaches about last weekends games...

📰⚽U13 MATCH REPORT: RHODE LANE 2 – 4 SYDENHAM⚽📰

The long-awaited, much postponed and anticipated Rhode Lane game. First half we dominated possession and territory, and when we played with pace and found spaces, created a host of chances. Their first foray into our half caused some tentative, panicked defending and saw us 1 nil down. Fortunately a long throw from Callum, into the penalty area minutes later was smashed home by Will for 1 a piece. More lacklustre defending saw us again behind but a neat turn and tidy finish from Emmanuel saw us in at half time all square.
Message for the second half was clear, get the ball into space, pass and move. The message was not well received! We found ourselves under pressure. Backs to the wall. But they dogged it out, defended resolutely. A drilled finish from Liam into the far corner and a lovely lofted strike from Emmanuel again calmed nerves and sealed a win that was on balance, just about deserved, but more about grit and determination than control and quality.

💪 Player of the Match: Emmanuel. Held the ball up and looked to spread play. Pressed hard and linked up with strike partner Archie and wide players well. 2 composed finishes especially his second.

📰⚽️ U14 MATCH REPORT: TONE YOUTH 5 - 1 SYDENHAM⚽️📰

This weekend Sydenham U14s welcomed Tone Touth to BCA. In a brilliant game of football with two evenly matched sides.
Connor scoring his first goal for us! (And what a goal!)
Some brilliant attacking play.
Lots of positives to take into future games. But also some things we need to work on in training.
Score line really didn’t reflect the game. Unfortunately we just couldn’t finish our chances. And Tone Youth did.

💪 POTM went to Daniel for working his socks off all afternoon. And causing a lot of problems for the tone youth defence. Well done Daniel
