FIRST TEAM — A DAY TO FORGET
Unfortunately, it was one to forget for the Dunwear United First Team today, as they suffered a 4–2 defeat in a difficult afternoon.
Things became even tougher as Dunwear were reduced to 9 men following two sending-offs.
Despite the difficult circumstances, Dunwear continued to battle, with Junior and James getting themselves on the scoresheet.
One to put behind us and come back stronger from. 💪

🏆 RESERVES — WHAT A GAME!!
What a performance from the Dunwear United Reserves!
With limited players available, Dunwear started the game with a changed formation. Unfortunately, a miscommunication at the back saw two players go for the same ball, allowing the Langport striker to break through and put them into an early lead.
However, the game soon changed when Dunwear switched back to their usual formation, immediately looking more comfortable and settled.
The equaliser came from a set piece (Arsenal, is that you?) with Greg whipping in a brilliant corner that fell perfectly onto Joe’s head, who guided his header into the net to make it 1–1.
Dunwear continued to control the game and create some good chances, and the second goal came in rather unexpected fashion!
Dan, from right-back, attempted an over-the-top ball which was slightly overhit and caught the Langport keeper off guard. The ball struck the bar before falling kindly to Cam “Prime Van Nistlelrooy” who made no mistake and slotted it home to put Dunwear 2–1 ahead! ⚽
With injuries and a lack of substitutes, Dunwear had to dig deep for the remainder of the game and battle through the pressure.
Unfortunately, in the 87th minute, Langport were awarded a penalty and converted it to make it 2–2, which remained the score at full time.
So… PENALTIES IT IS! 😬
And Dunwear held their nerve! 💪
The Reserves came out 4–3 winners on penalties, with Langport hitting the bar before Dunwear goalkeeper and Man of the Match, Alex Phillips, produced the crucial save to win the shootout! 🧤🔥
DUNWEAR UNITED ARE THROUGH TO THE NEXT ROUND OF THE COUNTY CUP! 🏆
