Perkins joins club as new Technical Director
Bridgwater Utd Womens FC has shown a dedication to its commitment in developing its own players, with the appointment of a new Technical Director.
Steve Perkins has been appointed to the club, in a newly created role, and will oversee the implementation and delivery of a new playing identity, structure and philosophy, whilst also providing essential support to coaching and performance staff throughout the club.
Perkins, who is a UEFA A License coach, also holds the FA Youth Award, is a licensed tutor, and has a vast amounts of experience within football, including boys academies, along with mens semi-professional football at step 3.
In recent years, Perkins worked with the England Womens youth teams, from U15’s through to U20’s, which included international camps, matches and tournaments, many of which involved coaching current England Lionesses in todays senior squad.
More recently, Perkins has been Head of Football at Millfield School, but will commence a new role at Bridgwater Utd Womens FC, where he will be active in all football aspects from the first team, through the youth teams of all ages.
Perkins said “I am delighted to be part of this exciting stage of Bridgwater Utd Women’s journey and from the first conversations I’ve had, I’ve been looking forward to get going with the staff and players in what’s going to be an exciting time for the club.”
General Manager, Trevor Jenkins added, “I am really looking forward to be working alongside Steve, who will add so much value and expertise to the club, but more importantly, for the players.
“We are wanting to do things properly and want good people at the club who share the same vision. There is a lot of work to be done, but it’s an extremely exciting time for all of our teams and players.”
