📣 TEAM STATEMENT 📣

✨ Brad, his coaching staff & the team who commendably finished 4th last year, are moving over to Highburn Athletic for the upcoming season & beyond… ✨

🙏🏼VPR have been brilliant for taking us on last season and we offer huge thanks to them. We wish the club all the best in the future! 👏

▫️We move to a club that has established men's Saturday & Sunday league teams. Last season was the Saturday team's inaugural season and they convincingly won The Weston Super Mare & District Division 4 at the first attempt.

⚽️The change in facilities will benefit the team & enable good growth. We will have changing rooms with showers, a clubhouse & be part of an adult team-oriented club ⚽️

🙌🏼 The ladies are delighted with the move & the future is looking very bright. The majority of the team will be moving over to build on last season. With our girls moving over, joined by our new signings, we’ll be in an incredible position going into this upcoming season and gunning for the league title!!💪🏼

⚽️💥Our very own Hayley G has topped the top scorer table with 34 goals in 15 games!

Fun fact: Hayley has managed to score against every team* we faced in the league this season!

Hayley said “Over the moon to have achieved top scorer this season. I couldn’t have done it without the dream team behind me. Looking forward to next season 👌💪”

Managers Player of the Match: Bucky! no one was getting past Buck today, she worked her socks off for 90 min in a back 3 and was solid all game. Buck even contributed to the attacks with some piercing diagonal balls across the pitch.

Players Player of the match voted by the Team: Macy Lucas! Macy was up & down the right side of midfield like a pro today defending & getting forward but Macy was particularly effective in the attack today scoring a brace & bagging a brace of asssits too!

Donkey of the Match: Macy Lucas & Zeta Palmer! When Macy went in for a sliding tackle to completely miss time it and miss the ball & the player. Zeta is not one to shy away from a tackle and decides to try and avenge the missed tackle and goes in…. also missing the ball & player 🤣 our gaffa referred to it as “Air Sliding” 👌🏼

Managers Player of the Match: Kirsty Sutherland! today she showed strength and determination while dominating in the midfield areas & we don't recall her losing a tackle. Kirsty rounded off with a cheeky headed goal👌

Players Player of the match voted by the Team: Hayley Gardner! Captain Fantastic leads from the front again & bagged herself 5 (yes 5) goals! With today's goals she leaps into top scorer for division two! 💪🏼

Donkey of the Match: Lauren Whitehouse!
Even though she was on a night shift and had hardly any sleep, her snooze button had longer minutes than Lauren completed on the pitch today due to her rolling her ankle going for the ball and breaking her ankle! Speedy recovery and we send all our love. (She’s taken the donkey shout well and chuffed to get the vote🤣)
