BAKER CUP CHAMPIONS

Bridgwater CC beat Taunton St Andrews by 7 WICKETS in the T20 Baker Cup Final.

St Andrews 166-5. Harry Everard anchored it with 51* off 45, and when Danny Woolcott launched 28 off 7 balls — three sixes, and a strike rate of 400.

Bridgwater had other plans.

Seth Locke did the early damage with 3-47, removing Williams-Pritchard and Dupont up top before returning for Salaman. Tom Bellinger was the pick of the attack — 1-24 from his four at just 6 an over, with a sharp caught and bowled to end Toby Williams-Thomas on 38. Charlie Fisher conceded only 21 off his four.

Then the chase. James Regan 18 off 13 to set the tone, Harminder Singh 32 off 29 with two maximums. But this was Chris Skidmore's night — 62 NOT OUT off 43, three fours, three sixes, ice cold from first ball to last.

When skipper Stuart Butt fell for a brisk 21, we were 109-3 and needed 58 from 34 balls. Still anyone's game. Tom Bellinger walked out and settled it: 29* off 16. An unbroken stand of 58 in 31 balls, home with 3 balls to spare and 7 wickets standing.

170 chased down. Cup coming home.

Outstanding from every one of you, and thank you to everyone who travelled and roared us home

There are only a handful of fixtures left on the card, and everything still to play for. Every run, every wicket, every half-chance in the deep matters from here. This is the run-in. This is where seasons get decided.

BATTLE OF THE BRIDGWATERS

Friday 21st August. One pitch. Two clubs. Zero chance of anyone letting this one go quietly.

Bridgwater CC take on Bridgwater & Albion RFC in a T20 showdown at The Parks — and let's be honest, we all want to know what happens when the rugby boys are handed a cricket bat.

Big hitting, questionable shot selection, and bragging rights on the line until this time next year. Which Bridgwater sport reigns supreme? There's only one way to find out.

Parks bar open from 5PM
6PM start

Bring the family, bring your mates, bring a chair

Free to attend, all welcome. Get down early, grab a drink and pick a side — cricket or rugby, you'll want to be there for this one.

TEAMS ARE IN. LET'S GO.

Four sides out on Saturday, one on Sunday, and every single one of them playing for something. This is the business end — the weekend where seasons get decided.

1st XI vs Frocester CC — at The Parks, Alex Eckland's men, and a full-strength XI in front of our own. If you're coming to one game this season, make it this one.

2nd XI vs Wembdon CC Stu Butt leads them out. Big points on the line.

3rd XI vs Taunton St Andrews CC Experience meets youth — this group has been outstanding all summer.

Pointers XI vs Uphill Castle CC Skipper Simon Keith and the boys after another one.

Women's 2nd XI vs Chard CC Women's 1st XI — Sunday, T20 Phoebe Hooper's side under the Sunday sun. Twenty overs. No hiding place.

The Parks - Bar will be open from 12:00 - Full menu from 16:00

Bring the family. Bring your mates. Bring a chair, a drink and a voice — because home advantage isn't a thing until you make it one. Every boundary, every wicket, every over is louder with you behind it.

We'll see you there.

The full version

TEAMS ARE IN.

Four sides. Four fixtures. One very good Saturday.

The sheets are up, the selections are made, and there's no arguing with the graphic — swipe through and find your name

1st XI vs Thornbury CC
2nd XI vs Wellington CC
3rd XI vs North Petherton CC
Pointers vs Lympsham & Belvedere CC

Whites pressed. Bats knocked in. Kettle on. Someone's forgotten their box already.

Whether you're opening, batting eleven, or just there for the tea — get down, bring a mate, and make some noise. Home games are always better with a crowd behind them.

And a proper thank you to every sponsor on these sheets. Local businesses backing local cricket — you're the reason we've got four teams out this weekend.

REGIONAL FINALS DAY | U13s NATIONAL CUP

The journey continues.

This Sunday, our Bridgwater CC U13s travel to Salisbury to compete in the Regional Finals Day of the National Cup, with a place in the Last 4 up for grabs.

Four of the best teams in the region. One day. Two wins needed. One incredible opportunity.

This group of young cricketers has worked tirelessly to earn their place in the Last 16 of the competition, and now they’re just one step away from reaching Finals Day. It’s a fantastic achievement already, but they’re not finished yet.

Let’s get behind the boys and show them what it means to represent the blue of Bridgwater. If you can make the trip to Salisbury, your support from the boundary could make all the difference. Every cheer, every clap and every voice counts.

These lads are the future of Bridgwater Cricket Club, and the entire club is right behind them. Every player from our men’s and women’s teams, along with coaches, volunteers, members and supporters, will be cheering them on every step of the way.

Good luck, boys. Enjoy every moment, play with pride, back each other, and leave everything out on the field.

Come on, Bridgy!
