Better late than never! 6th and 7th of June Junior Weekend Results

A brilliant weekend of cricket for our youth teams, with some fantastic performances across the age groups.

U11 Bluesox secured a superb win against Wembdon C, winning by 75 runs. Player of the Match went to Isaac W after a great all-round display with 16 runs and a wicket.

U11 Redsox also came away with a strong result against Wembdon A, winning by 25 runs. Well done to Grace W, who was named Player of the Match after taking 2 wickets and completing a run out.

U13 Bluesox were awarded a walkover win against Winscombe after the opposition were unable to field a team.

U13 Redsox delivered another excellent performance, beating Taunton Deane Tornadoes by 7 wickets. Player of the Match was Fin T, who finished with 30 not out and a wicket.

A huge congratulations to Riley R, our Youth Player of the Week, proudly sponsored by Fireaway Pizza Bridgwater.

A huge weekend ahead for Bridgwater CC, with four sides in action and plenty to play for across the club.

The 1st XI take on Frocester CC
Our 2nd XI face Wembdon CC,
The 3rd XI go up against Taunton St Andrews CC
The Pointers are also in action against Uphill CC

Big performances needed. Big weekend for the club.

The club would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated so generously to our two chosen charities last weekend.

Thanks to your kindness and support, we raised a fantastic ÂŁ1,469, which will be split evenly between the British Heart Foundation and Meningitis Now.

It means so much to the club to see our community come together in this way. The day was not only about raising money for two brilliant causes, but also about remembering and sharing stories of two much-loved clubmen who meant so much to Bridgwater Cricket Club.

We are incredibly grateful to every person who donated, bought cakes, raffle tickets or sweets, and helped make the day so special.

A big thank you also goes to all of the volunteers who gave up their time to support the day. We truly could not have done it without you.

A BIG FOR BRIDGWATER CC!

After a huge weekend of cricket last Saturday, we go again.

Last week had a bit of everything across the club. The 3rd XI put in a brilliant performance, beating Butleigh CC by 87 runs, with runs on the board and wickets shared around. The 1st XI battled hard against Burbage & Easton Royal, the 2nd XI pushed Frome CC close in a high-scoring game, and the Pointers were edged out by Churchill CC in a tight one. Plenty of fight, plenty of positives, and now all eyes turn to this weekend.

This Saturday, the 1st XI are back at The Parks taking on Thornbury CC from 12:00, while the 2nd XI travel to Wellington, the 3rd XI head to North Petherton, and the Pointers are at Wyndham Park against Lympsham & Belvedere CC.

Even better… The Parks Bar will be open from 12:00
And food will be served from 16:00

So come down, get behind the Bridgy boys, enjoy a drink, grab some food and make a proper day of it at the cricket.

Last week’s Youth results are in… and what a week for the juniors!

A brilliant set of performances across the age groups, with wins for the U11 Bluesox, U13 Bluesox and U15s, plus a walkover win for the U13 Redsox after Long Sutton were unable to field a team.

Player of the Match highlights:

U11 Bluesox: Aravin B
11 not out and 1 wicket in a 30-run win over Curry Rival.

U13 Bluesox: Alfie H
A superb bowling display with 3 wickets in a 15-run win over Street.

U15: Reggie K
An outstanding all-round performance with 50 not out and 3 wickets in a 12-run win over Wembdon.

A huge well done to Aravin B, who takes this week’s Overall Player of the Week after a brilliant all-round contribution for the U11 Bluesox.

We also cannot thank Fireaway Pizza Bridgwater enough for their continued support towards the club and our players. Your backing makes a real difference, and we’re incredibly grateful.

National Cup action incoming!

Our Bridgwater CC Women are ready to go as they take on Bath this Sunday in the National Cup. A huge fixture, a strong squad, and everything to play for.

Led by Joey-Leigh Roberts, with Molly Thornburn behind the stumps, the team will be looking to bring energy, confidence and plenty of fight to the day.

Two busy Saturdays, plenty of cricket, and some standout individual performances across the club.

From big wins, to some hard-fought fixtures across the sides, there were plenty of players putting their hand up.

1st XI - Cam Harding picked up POTW after a brilliant 98 against Bristol
3rd XI - Tom Wickens, for his match-affecting 32 runs and 3 wickets

Both Players of the Week receive a well-earned pizza, kindly sponsored by Fireaway Pizza. A huge thank you to Fireaway for their continued partnership and support of the club.

Today we will be supporting two fantastic charities in memory of two of our great men.

Throughout the day there will be a cake & sweets sold alongside a raffle which will sold & drawn during the game.

Junior Weekend Results are in!

A great weekend of cricket across the age groups, with some brilliant individual performances to celebrate.

🔵 U11 Bluesox picked up a fantastic win by 29 runs against North Curry. A special mention goes to Finley W, who was POTM in his first ever match, scoring 5 not out and taking a wicket. What a debut!

đź”´ U11 Redsox conceded to Glastonbury as they were unable to field a team due to availability over the bank holiday weekend.

🔵 U13 Bluesox were awarded a walkover win against East Huntspill, who were unable to field a team.

đź”´ U13 Redsox won a close one by 4 runs against Glastonbury. James M was POTM after a brilliant all-round performance, scoring 22 runs and taking 3 wickets.

🔵 U15s narrowly lost to Chard by 6 runs, but Charlie H led from the front with a captain’s innings of 51 not out, also taking a wicket.

🌟 Overall Player of the Week, sponsored by Fireaway Pizza Bridgwater, goes to Finley W after a brilliant first ever match!
