💚💜💚Our first season in the Premier Division has been one to remember. Stepping up into a higher level of competition always brings its challenges, and this year was no different. We faced strong opposition week in, week out, tested ourselves against some of the best sides around, and showed that we belong at this level.

Across the season, there have been plenty of positives to take. Strong team performances, moments of real quality, and a growing resilience have all been key. We’ve picked up important results, learned valuable lessons, and built a solid foundation to move forward from. Just as importantly, the squad spirit has been outstanding — a group committed to improving, competing, and representing the club the right way.

Of course, there’s still more to come. We know we can push further, be more consistent, and turn good performances into even better results. That’s exactly what we’re aiming for.

Looking ahead to the 2026/27 season, the focus is clear: take the next step. We want to build on this year’s experience, raise our standards again, and compete even higher up the table.

To do that, we’re looking to strengthen.

We’re on the lookout for committed, ambitious players who want to be part of a competitive environment and help drive the club forward. If you’re ready to challenge yourself at Premier Division level and be part of a team pushing for more, we want to hear from you.

Get in touch and be part of the journey. 💚💜💚

🟢🟣🟢🟣It’s been a bruising week for the Grasshoppers — physically, mentally, and emotionally — but one that underlined just how much fight and pride this group carries.

Wednesday’s League Knockout Cup trip to Wembdon was always going to be a challenge, and with injuries stacking up, the lads were already up against it before a ball was kicked. Even so, they pushed through the pain barrier, dug deep, and kept themselves in the contest. It wasn’t the result we wanted, but the effort was unquestionable.

Then came today’s Premier Division fixture against North Petherton, where things somehow got even tougher. With a bare eleven available, every player had to go beyond their limits just to get us through the ninety minutes. It’s never easy stepping onto the pitch knowing there are no fresh legs to call upon, but the boys showed real heart in the face of it.

Losing hurts — whatever the competition, whatever the circumstances — and it’s okay to feel that disappointment. This squad cares deeply, and that’s why these moments sting. But caring is also what drives us to respond, to regroup, and to go again.

Now, with a rare two‑week break ahead, the priority is simple: rest, recover, and rebuild. Bodies need time, minds need space, and this group has earned both. When we return, we’ll be ready to attack the final four games of the season with the same spirit that defines this club.

We dust ourselves off. We stick together. We keep fighting.

Up the Hoppers.🟢🟣🟢🟣

🟢🟣🟢🟣With Nick forced to watch from the stands as he begins his two‑match suspension, stand‑in gaffer Sam Murray took the reins and delivered exactly what the Hoppers needed: organisation, belief, and three huge points.

Grasshoppers struck first after some lovely build‑up down the right. A flowing move ended with an inch‑perfect cross finding Dan Saunders, whose initial effort was smothered by the onrushing keeper — but Charly Moore reacted fastest, staying composed to slot home.
1–0. Game on.

Galmington hit back quickly. A misjudged ball in midfield gifted them space, and their midfielder punished it ruthlessly, curling into the top‑right corner.
1–1.

The half then turned scrappy. Tackles flew in, tempers rose, and the game threatened to boil over. Brad Hilton was forced off after a heavy challenge, and Leyton saw his emotions spill over again, earning himself a 10‑minute sin‑bin. Despite the pressure and the disruption, the Hoppers dug in and reached the break level.

The restart brought a wave of Galmington corners, but the defence stood tall. Ryan Frost, back to his brilliant best, produced a string of superb saves to keep the scores level and the belief alive.

As the game settled, Grasshoppers began to regain control — and then came the moment.

A long ball aimed at Charly caused chaos, and Jack Stephens burst through. Forced wide, with Brad arriving centrally, Jack took responsibility himself and drilled a cool finish into the bottom corner. Pace, Power and Precision
2–1. All three points secured.

A proper striker’s goal. A proper away performance.

🟢🟣Galmington vs Grasshoppers is finally on after weeks of weather chaos, with postponements and waterlogged pitches disrupting both sides’ rhythm. Grasshoppers head into this one hungry to put things right after the reverse fixture slipped away from them last time. Expect energy, intent, and a squad ready to make up for lost time.🟣🟢

🟢🟣A deeply disappointing end to our Rowbarton Cup run. The scoreline hurts, especially given the effort out there. The conditions made it a tough evening for football, with the weather playing its part, but that’s no excuse. We created plenty of opportunities and had moments where we were right on top — we just couldn’t find the back of the net when it mattered most.
That lack of cutting edge ultimately cost us, and it’s a hard one to take.

There’s frustration in the camp because the performance deserved more than the outcome.
We now have a week off to recover, analyse, and regroup. We’ll use the time to reset, refocus, and make sure we’re ready to get back to league action with a response. This one stings — but we’ll learn from it and come back stronger. 🟣🟢

🟢🟣A strong home performance saw Bridgwater Grasshoppers claim all three points, as reflected in the match graphic, with a confident 3–1 victory over Wellington. The Grasshoppers combined composure, work rate, and clinical finishing to secure the win.

⚽ First Half

1–0 – Leyton Lemaitre

The opener came through a moment of real quality. Charly Moore threaded a beautifully weighted ball straight into Leyton’s stride, splitting the Wellington midfield. Leyton powered forward from deep, drove into space, and showed real composure as he slotted calmly past the Wellington goalkeeper. A brilliant combination and a deserved early breakthrough.

2–0 – Joel Dunster

The second came just ten minutes later. Luke Bartlett slid Joel in down the left channel with a clever pass that took the full‑back out of the game. Joel didn’t hesitate—he drove directly at goal, opened his body, and tucked the ball neatly into the bottom corner. A sharp, confident finish that doubled the advantage.

---

⚽ Second Half

3–1 – Dan Saunders

Wellington pulled one back after the break, but the Grasshoppers responded with maturity. The third goal arrived courtesy of more excellent link‑up play. Charly Moore, again at the heart of it, found Dan Saunders on the edge of the area. Dan took a touch, assessed the keeper, and placed a perfectly controlled strike into the bottom corner. A composed finish that restored the two‑goal cushion and sealed the result.

⭐ Man of the Match – Sam Dunster
A masterclass in midfield control. Sam dictated the tempo, broke up play, and kept the Grasshoppers ticking throughout. His work rate and intelligence were central to the win.

🫏 Donkey – Ellis Bennett
Awarded—fairly or unfairly—for disappearing on a weekend away instead of turning out for the badge. The lads won’t let him forget it.

🔜 Next Up
A tough away trip to North Petherton, where the Grasshoppers will look to build on this strong performance and keep momentum rolling.🟣🟢

🟢🟣A familiar opponent returns to Bridgwater this weekend as the Grasshoppers prepare to face Wellington AFC for the second time in the space of a week. It’s a rare scheduling quirk, but one that adds an extra layer of intrigue, rivalry, and opportunity as both sides look to assert themselves after already locking horns just days ago.

Despite the unpredictable January skies and whatever Mother Nature decides to throw at us, the Grasshoppers are raring to go. The squad has shown real resilience in recent weeks, and there’s a clear determination to get back out on the pitch, build momentum, and put in a performance that reflects the hard work happening behind the scenes.

Wellington will arrive knowing exactly what to expect from us — intensity, organisation, and a willingness to battle for every ball. But facing the same team twice in quick succession also gives us a chance to adapt, refine, and respond. Lessons from the first meeting will be fresh, and the players are eager to turn that knowledge into an advantage.

With home support behind us and a group hungry to make their mark, this promises to be another competitive clash. Rain, wind, or winter sunshine, the Grasshoppers are ready. 🟣🟢
