Joint pain isn’t always a joint problem 🤍
After 7+ years as a physio and hundreds of patients with sore knees and hips, the pattern I see most is that people focus on the joint and miss what’s happening inside. Pain is often a sign of inflammation, and inflammation starts on the inside.
Metabolic health, food and lifestyle all play a role 🌿
In a University of Alabama study, people with knee osteoarthritis on a low-carb diet had less pain, and it wasn’t only the weight loss. Their markers of oxidative stress and inflammation came down too.
High-lectin foods (potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, zucchini) can be a trigger for some people, especially with an autoimmune condition. High-oxalate foods can build up as calcium oxalate crystals, which is worth knowing if you’ve ever been told you have calcifications.
And sometimes it’s what’s missing. Your nutrient status matters too. Without enough protein, collagen and minerals, your joints don’t have the building blocks they need to stay strong and repair ✨
Joint pain is a messenger. When the internal environment is supported, many people find their pain eases.
Real food. Deep nourishment. From the inside out. 🥣
