Stop chasing the calories. Start chasing the watts. ⚡
If you’re using a cardio machine, you’ve probably seen something like this:
🔥 291 calories burned
⚡ 177 watts
⏱️ 25 minutes
Most people look at the 291 and think:
"Awesome. I burned 291 calories."
But here's the problem…
That calorie number is an estimate.
Your actual energy expenditure depends on a whole bunch of factors, including your body size, efficiency, fitness level and individual physiology.
A machine can't perfectly know what's happening inside your body just by watching you pedal, run or climb.
And it certainly doesn't have a detailed picture of how much of your body is muscle, fat, water, etc.
So instead of obsessing over an imperfect calorie estimate…
Look at your watts.
Watts tell you how much work you're producing.
And that's something you can actually track and improve.
Maybe today you produce 177 watts for 25 minutes.
A few months from now?
200 watts.
Same amount of time.
More work.
Better performance.
That's progress.
Don't chase the number the machine guesses.
Chase the number you can improve. ⚡
