REU is held in the beautiful Saskatchewan River valley near Devon Alberta. Next race Sept. 19 2026

The races of the River's Edge Running Series are located north west of Devon, Alberta, on some of the most beautiful varied terrain in central Alberta. They are a fundraiser for Olive Tree Projects, an organization started by an amazing young lady, Sarah Wallace, who has, in her young life helped numerous women and children in Haiti. 100% of the proceeds after race expenses will go to support this worthwhile cause.

If the forecast holds the weather will be great for everyone and the water will not be cold for the crossing to and from the island.

HELP WANTED PLEASE

With less than a week to go until River's Edge Ultra we are still in need of volunteers to make the event run smoothly. The weather forecast is promising so it will be a great time to enjoy the fall colours while helping our runners enjoy our beautiful trails. Of course, some shifts are at night which would give you the opportunity to see the sunrise on a beautiful fall morning.

I have sent almost 400 emails with important race info to registered runners but so far just over 100 have been opened. Included in the email is a coupon for 15% off at MEC.

We did not have a large crowd out yesterday for the orientation/training run and a lot of cinnamon buns were left over. We are planning three more runs for the July 18, August 22 and September 12.
Meet at our place, 26323 TWP RD 511 Spruce Grove T7Y 1E2, which is nowhere near Spruce Grove, but 1km west of Hwy 60 on the south side of Graminia Rd which is just north of Devon. Please plan to arrive early enough so we can leave by 9AM. Refreshments provided after the run, maybe fresh cinnamon buns again

We would like to see the volunteer roster begin to fill up We are also planning something new this year by offering a combined volunteer orientation and trail clearing weekend on the 29/30 August. More details to follow but for sure there will be food.

There is a price increase coming up on July 5 to enter REU. We are happy to receive the extra money from those that do not sign up before I do feel obliged to remind runners about the deadline.
