Before the weekend's matches, all boys and girls aged 8-14 years are invited to attend the Harvey Norman Heart of Rugby Tour at Eady Street, Glenorchy on Friday night.

This weekend our Championship Men and Women's teams hit the road to North Warrane to take on the Eastern Suburbs Roosters in what promises to be a big day of rugby.
🏆 Championship Men vs Eastern Suburbs Roosters
There's plenty at stake with the teams contesting the Geoff Farrington Memorial Shield. The Penguins will be looking to bounce after last week’s disappointment. The Roosters always bring their A game for this fixture. Penguins need to find their strong form from earlier in the season to bring the Shield back home to Rugby Park.
💪 Women's Team vs Eastern Suburbs Roosters
Our women face another tough challenge on the road as they take on the Roosters. After some impressive performances this season, they'll be eager to keep building momentum and bring home an important win.

🚨🐧📣Huge opportunity for our Junior Penguins 8-14 years old📣🐧🚨

Rugby Australia is excited to be bringing the Heart of Regional Rugby Tour to Hobart on Friday 19 June.

The Heart of Regional Rugby Tour is designed to connect regional communities with the game of rugby through fun, engaging and inclusive rugby activities. The tour provides young participants with the opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence, make new friends and interact with some of Australia's rugby greats.

We are thrilled to be joined by:

• Morgan Turinui – a former Wallaby centre who represented Australia in 20 Test matches, including appearances at the 2003 and 2007 Rugby World Cups.

• Hilisha Samoa – a former Wallaroo who represented Australia in 8 Test matches and has been a passionate advocate for women's rugby and community participation programs across the country.

The clinic will be delivered by experienced Rugby Australia and Tasmania Rugby staff, alongside Morgan and Hilisha, ensuring participants receive a fun, engaging and high-quality rugby experience.

As part of the event, every registered participant will receive a FREE Heart of Regional Rugby Tour training shirt, and there will be a range of giveaways and prizes on the night.

🎉 200 First Grade Games – James Holman 🎉

This weekend, the club celebrates a remarkable milestone as James Holman pulls on the Penguins jersey for his 200th First Grade game for Taroona Rugby Club.

A multiple premiership winner, former Best & Fairest recipient, outstanding clubman, coach, mentor and all-round good bloke, James has been a huge part of the Taroona story for many years.

On the field, he's built a reputation as a tough, uncompromising competitor whose impact is felt every time he crosses the white line. Whether it's carrying hard, defending harder, or leading by example, Jimmy James Holman has never taken a backward step.

Off the field, his contribution has been just as significant. As a coach and role model for our junior players, he's helped shape the next generation of Penguins and embodies everything our club stands for.

And while records may never officially confirm it, there is strong evidence to suggest James is also the proud owner of the oldest and wrankest footy socks worn in Tasmanian Rugby. Despite repeated opportunities for retirement, both the socks and their owner continue to get the job done.

Congratulations, Holman, on reaching 200 First Grade games. Your commitment, loyalty and contribution to Taroona Rugby Club are greatly appreciated, and we're proud to celebrate this milestone with you.
