One breath changed everything.

I used to be a a trek guide.

Once I was leading a group of forty people through the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea.

Ten hours hiking a day for 7 days.
Exhaustion. Pain. Fatigue.
A torn ACL (mine)
My brain was running on empty.

I could have pushed through. Forced my body to keep going. But instead I took one deep breath & let my nervous system settle.

That one breath was the difference between just grinding through and calmly, confidently leading forty people forward.

From surviving to actually showing up as the leader they needed.

That’s the power of breath work. And that’s what I do every single day with the women I work with.

I help them calm their nervous systems so they can

➡️ back themselves so big decisions come with ease
➡️Ask for that raise
➡️Say no and actually mean it
➡️Stop being the bottom of their own to-do list.

I’m pitching myself to speak at the Unstoppable event on the Gold Coast in September and I’d LOVE your support!

What do you think - would you come see me on stage? Drop your answer in the comments!

Your kids will be fine.
Your husband will survive.
Work will be okay without you.

You know that.
You just don’t believe it applies to you.

So you keep saying you’ll go next year.
Once things calm down.

Guess what ➡️ things are not going to calm down.

I have felt trapped by motherhood.

Not trapped by my children.

Trapped by the version of motherhood many in my life simply accept because “that’s just the way it is.”

The one where you pour everything in and want nothing back for yourself.

The one where loving your kids means being satisfied with only that.

I am not satisfied with only that.

And it’s taken me years to say the next bit out loud.

Being a mum doesn’t fill my cup. Not completely.

I want more.
I’m built for more.

When I became a mum my vision got bigger.

The thing I am here to do in this world stopped feeling optional. I look at my kids and I don’t think, I should want less.

I think, I need to show them what it looks like when a woman refuses to let ‘what everyone else does’ be her compass for a happy life.

I want to be on stages around the world talking to thousands of women about self confidence, breathwork and how fu***ng good it feels to be strong.

I want to build something that matters.
I want my children to watch me do it.

You’re not a bad mum for wanting more.
You’re just a woman who was never going to be contained by one role, no matter how much you love it.

Share this with a woman who needs to hear it. You knows who she is.

You were never meant to do this alone.

Somewhere along the way we decided that a strong woman handles everything herself.

The job, the kids, the ageing parents, the dog vomiting on the carpet.

The mental load nobody else sees.

We normalise isolation and call it ‘coping.’

Then you put twelve women in a room together and watch what happens.

Someone says ‘the thing’ out loud.

The thing she’s been carrying for years, convinced she was the only one. And six other women go, oh thank god, me too.

That moment does more for a nervous system than any supplement the wellness industry has ever flogged you.

The laughter that comes after a good cry. The kind where someone wees their pants a little (it’s usually me.)

Your shoulders drop.
Your breath slows.
Your body finally clocks that it’s safe, because it’s surrounded by women who get it.

This is not woo woo. Connection regulates us.

We are wired for it, and most of us are running on empty in that department because we’ve been too busy holding everyone else together to be held ourselves.

That’s what six days in Bali is actually for.

The breathwork matters.
The pool and the gorgeous food and the temples matter.

But the thing women tell me they can’t stop thinking about afterwards is the other women.

The Retreat With No Name - Ubud, Bali.
