Huge congratulations to our newest grey and white belt, Dom 🎉🎊🤩 Over the last year, Dom has gone from the type of student to hide behind his dad on the side of the mat just watching classes, to being the type of student who volunteers, unprompted, to demonstrate hand fighting strategies in front of an entire class— unique ideas that he invented, not ones that Coach Aidan and I taught to him. And the more I get to know Dom, the more I see he is equally silly and goofy as he is tough. When he was paired with an older, bigger kid that did a submission on him at an open mat— not knowing that Dom had never experienced a submission ever before— his response wasn’t to cower in fear, it was to tell his dad, “Dude… I have to go learn that move!” That is the type of growth that makes our jobs so rewarding as coaches, and is why we are SO proud to place a grey and white belt on Dom. And the cherry on top? 🍒 Dom's dad, Jon, earned his blue belt earlier this year!! 🩵 Whole family leveling 🆙
