At nzbiketrails we love our bikes and care for them like family members. Every so often we need to find some of them new homes - so they can be enjoyed and loved - whilst we clear space for our new range. Lake Wānaka is the highest I’ve seen it for a while. The trail riding and scenery is just stunning at the moment surrounded by snow capped Mountains with temperatures in the high teens by the end of the day.

Whenever I ride these trails I always try and leave time for a drink at my two favourite spots in Wānaka - the first is a short ride pass the Wānaka Tree to stop at the Edgewater Hotel Garden bar which is just so peaceful and serene. My other favourite spots is to pop around to Pembroke Wines, lounge on their sofas and enjoy a craft beer with a cheese or Charcuterie platter. We are so lucky to live or visit here. Let the smiles keep rolling on.

What a beautiful day on all of our trails today. Selection of photos from our ‘Best of the Queenstown Trails Ride’ - 36km between Kinross and Arthur’s Point. Absolutely stunning views. It’s great when you are working with other Team members and you can take in more. A fantastic day across all of our trails. Small diversions on a couple of them but nothing major.

No better way to see more of the wider Queenstown area and next year we will also be riding the Kawarau Gorge to Carrick Winery from ‘vibe to vine’

Today was an absolute ‘washout’ with heavy rain all day. The nzbiketrails team hit the phones first thing this morning, contacted all of our riders and either moved their ride to other days, other trails to match their travel plans or we just refunded them.

This is where our ‘Do the right thing’ policy comes into place.

If we were on holiday this is how we would expect to be treated. It’s easier to manage if it is booked directly but for us we think it’s the right thing to do.

Our team spent the day catching up on jobs to do (in the dry!)

We sometimes get guests who love to ride whatever the weather is- ‘David, Mum and Dad are looking after the kids and we just want to get away for the day!’ We don’t care what the weather is doing!’. Providing it’s safe we will support it!

As it dries up let’s go riding.

A child is going to have a cracking day on his Orange Specialized e-bike today on the Wānaka & Hāwea Trails. These bikes are great for kids 8 years+. Providing they have ridden a normal bike we will get them set up and ready to ride on these bikes. 8 years+ on Wānaka & Hāwea Trails and Queenstown Trails. 10 years+ on all other trails.

The Queenstown Trails are stunning at this time of the year. 3 of the best Queenstown Trails in one 36km ride followed by a quick shuttle back for a celebratory drink and Pizza at the Kinross Winery. nzbiketrails has now launched what we call 'The Best of the Queenstown Trails' - a 36km ride from our favourite Kinross Winery, through the Gibbston Valley, up the Arrow River Bridges Trail, join the Countryside Trail and then ride the new Wharehuanui Trail to Arthurs Point. We provide the e-bikes, the map and everything that you need. James and I stopped for lunch at the Millbrook Clubhouse on the way before finishing up at Gantley's Tavern at Arthurs Point. nzbiketrails would pick you up from here and then bring you back to Kinross where you can enjoy a celebratory glass of wine, wine tasting and food (not included) - why not make a day of it! We love the fact this is a 'one-way' ride so you can 'See More, Explore More and Enjoy More' - On average 2.5 hours of riding with nearly as much time to enjoy some stops on the way.

What a stunning day yesterday was riding on the Wānaka and Hāwea Trails. People often don’t realise how good the winter riding is here - quieter trails, stunning scenery with a low sun and great times with family and friends.

Alexine and I managed to do an easy 50km ride - which is the furthest I have been since getting back on the bike. Absolutely loved it.

This has to be a ‘ Wanaka Must Do’ to see the beauty of the area. Live availability at nzbiketrails.co.nz - Lets go riding.
