Not everything we do is above the snowline.

Some days it’s rolling hills, native bush, and mountain peaks on the horizon. Austin from Texas got to experience that firsthand this week — an exciting stalk on a huge private estate that had us closing the gap through some stunning New Zealand country.

We got to within 200 yards and Austin made it count. Heavy timber, beautiful palmation, real character. The kind of stag that looks better every time you walk past it.

A great way to add a second species to your New Zealand trip.

This buck spotted us at 600 yards and came straight to us.

We were set up at 250, held off and watched as he kept closing the gap. Minutes later the buck walked right into us at 15 yards! Our hunter had a round ready and anchored him on the spot.

Helicopter access, remote backcountry, and one exciting stalk! Our hunter from Texas was absolutely stoked.
