Back Where It All Began 🏁❤️
Anyone who has been part of our motocross community would have seen just how incredible a father Kane was. He was a hands-on, active dad, and motocross was truly his element. ❤️
With his own love for bikes, Kane loved nothing more than teaching the kids, watching their confidence grow, and seeing their skills develop. Race days were some of his favourite days. He even loved choosing his Rider of the Day between the kids — whether it was for their skills, their kindness, or simply for facing a fear. 🏆
Since losing Kane, Z Team hasn’t attended a race day. The kids haven’t even wanted to ride. It just hasn’t felt the same without Dad there.
But last weekend, as we celebrated Kane’s one-year memorial, something changed. Zavier and Siressa decided to pull their bikes out, burn some smoke and throw some helis — just like Dad would have loved to see. 🏍️💨❤️
The very next day, they decided they wanted to race again.
And there couldn’t be a more meaningful place to make our return than Sand Beast.
Last year, Sand Beast was held the weekend before Kane passed away, making it the last event Z Team ever attended with him.
So this year, Z Team is heading back.
Not just to race.
Not just to ride.
But to honour the dad, coach, best mate and biggest supporter who started it all. ❤️
Z Team is returning to Sand Beast — for Kane.
We know he’ll be watching from the best seat in the house. 🏁❤️

Had a good weekend last weekend, wrapping up winter season with Whangarei Motorcycle Club. It was a lot for us to be there without Kane Hanna Watson, had some very high emotions as it was where we had spent our last weekend with him competing in Sand Beast but the kids did their best to make him proud and ride fighting the tears. Massive thank you to all the wonderful members of our Clubs that helped the kids and welcomed them back. Massive thank you to my Dad Shelby Cobera for doing his best as our whole put crew and Aunty Stacey for Supporting us. Plus a massive thank you to Christina Webb for your wonderful photography skills xx
