The Snake Bank Classic is a no holds barred open sailing race for anything with a sail. Keelers against Kites. Centre boards against boards.
Held on the magnificent Whangarei Harbour, weather and wind permitting it hopes to show case water sports at its very best with a variety of craft embarking on a race around the famous Bank, the scene of many spectacles and an iconic piece of sand and shell that appears to have not changed since the beginning of time itself.
The race could be a blaze of glory if winds are strong or a steely test of skill and patience should lighter winds prevail.

($5 – Coastguard, $5 – St. John’s Ambulance, $5 – Ruakaka Skate Park, $5 – MYBC Learn to Sail Initiative, $5 – MYBC building maintenance)

Just a small plug...
The winds are perfect at the moment for getting some kite lessons in..
3 hour lessons are $240 for a Private lesson or bring a friend and its only $200 each.
What better way to experience the joy of kitesurfing than with friend.
