2026 Rugby season has sadly come to an end!

Congratulations to our final Players of the Day, have a look through… there’s a few “big kids” sneaking in there too 😜😂

A HUGE congratulations to every single one of our kids this season. Thank you for showing up, participating, keeping active, learning, improving and choosing Newlands Junior Rugby Club as the club you represent.

We’ve absolutely loved watching you grow throughout the season, build your skills, overcome challenges and, most importantly, have fun playing rugby. We appreciate every single one of you and we can’t wait to see you all again next year when we go again!

What a way to finish the season!

Our Newlands Vipers wrapped up their first season of tackle rugby with an awesome game against our friends, the Johnsonville Kāhu. 🐍🦅

Both teams have come such a long way this season, and it’s been fantastic watching the kids grow in confidence, skills and love for the game.

A huge well done to both teams 👏🏉

And just like that… we’ve reached the last round of the season!

What a season it has been! We’ve had some awesome footy, plenty of laughs, challenges, and most importantly, we’ve watched our kids grow, learn, develop and improve week after week.

Now it’s time for one last hoorah! Get the whānau, friends, supporters and cheer squad out there and show our kids some love as they take the field for their final games of the season.

A massive THANK YOU to all our coaches, managers, volunteers, parents, caregivers and everyone who has helped make this season happen. It takes a village, and we appreciate every single one of you.

📣 SIDELINE REMINDER
We have a ZERO TOLERANCE policy when it comes to abuse whether it’s directed at referees, coaches, players, opposition or anyone else, on or off the field.

This applies to everyone, our Newlands whānau and our opposition supporters alike. Please control yourselves, respect the game and remember why we’re all here for the kids.

Let’s finish the season with the same positive spirit we’ve shown all year and make the final round one to remember!

We’re officially in the final stretch! With our second to last game of the season wrapped up, it’s time to celebrate this week’s Players of the Day!

Our second to last game of the season! Round 15 here we go!

The majority of our games are being played at our home base this weekend, with 3 teams heading away. A big good luck to all our teams and kids taking the field!

The forecast is threatening a bit of rain, but fingers crossed it stays away and those sunny rays show out for us!

To all our players go out there and keep doing what you’ve been doing all season. Give it your all, enjoy yourselves, support your teammates and most importantly, have fun!

A reminder to everyone on the sideline: Newlands Rugby Club prides itself on exceptional sideline behaviour. We expect this from everyone attending our games, whether you’re supporting Newlands or the opposition.

🚫 We have ZERO tolerance for abuse or unacceptable behaviour towards coaches, players, referees or volunteers.

Let’s keep creating a positive environment where our kids can play, enjoy their rugby and be proud to represent their club.

🟢🔴Best of luck to our kids heading out this weekend for round 14🔴🟢

As we near the end of the season, the kids have continued to push through, face challenges head on and keep showing up week after week. We’re deep into the season now and it’s awesome to see the fitness, confidence and growth really starting to shine through!

Go out there give it your all, enjoy yourselves and most importantly, HAVE FUN!

Friendly reminder - Please remember that our referee’s/coaches are volunteers giving up their time for our kids to play. There is no place for abusive behaviour towards anyone.
