Holymoorside Angling Club Holymoorside AC is an angling club based at Holymoorside, Chesterfield. We have two venues, a mill pond at Holymoorside and two small ponds at Stonedge.

Now the temperature has settled, we are re-opening the dam as from now.
The level is still down about 15” from full so no keepnets on the dam until further notice please.
We need some rain 🤞.

DAM TEMPORARILY CLOSED

Unfortunately, we have experienced some fish losses within the last week, including some bream, tench, and perch.

Once aware of the situation, we contacted the Environment Agency immediately, and they have since visited the site to assess the situation. As a precaution, we have been advised to temporarily close the dam until water levels rise and temperatures begin to drop.

We are pumping some water from the river, but this does require constant manpower. If anyone has access to a pump and wouldn't mind helping, please get in touch.

We will announce as soon as the dam can be reopened. Stanedge pond can be fished as normal during this time.

The island pond at Stonedge will be closed to fishing from 3pm on Wednesday 6 August to allow bank work and tree cutting/pruning to be carried out.
If anyone can help it would be appreciated.
Bring pruning tools, loppers, saws, gloves, etc.
If you plan attending, could you post YES here please.

The track marked red on the pic and the ponds circled red, are private and are not accessible to our members.

Just a heads up for members planning to access Stonedge ponds.
A member has notified us that this rubbish is tipped on the lane to the ponds.
This is not the club’s doing and we guess it has been illegally dumped.
We are making enquiries to move it ASAP.
