KEEP PLAY AFFORDABLE - SIGN OUR PETITION

This summer, hundreds playcentres across the UK supported the *Great British Summer Savings scheme* which via a 15% VAT reduction enabled indoor playcentres to offer discounts and special deals to help families enjoy affordable days out.

But keeping play affordable shouldn’t just be a summer initiative.

That’s why the Association of Indoor Play is campaigning for 0% VAT on indoor play admissions.

Indoor play gives children safe, year-round spaces to be active, socialise and develop – and we believe every family should be able to access it.

Reducing VAT from 20% to 0% on children’s play would help keep prices affordable, support families and encourage more children to get active.

On Monday evening I attended a reception at 11 Downing Street, hosted by the Chancellor, via an invitation from Heywood and Middleton @ MP Elsie Blundell.

I attended not only as Director of Planet Play but as a representative of the AIP of Indoor Play

We discussed the Great British Summer Savings scheme, which we are taking part in and is allowing us to reduce VAT on both children's and adult admission prices. We are also able to reduce our children's meal prices.

Many people do not realise that VAT is charged on the entrance price of your child's play at 20%. The savings scheme allows us to charge only 5%.

The AIP are campaigning to obtain a zero VAT charge on children's play. Children's clothes, food, books pay no VAT, so why tax their play?

This campaign will be greatly boosted by everyone using the summer savings scheme and we would encourage you to visit venues who are taking part.

We have had a lovely couple of weeks making cards,decorating biscuits and many more Christmas activities.
Monday 15th- Wednesday 17th (next week) will be our last Christmas activities for this year.
So come along decorate your stocking, make reindeer food all ready for the big day, find a reindeer on the play frame for a prize.
Also last entries for the colouring comp -4 big prizes still to win
