MY BIGGEST CHALLENGE YET 🏃🏼♂️
I have got myself signed up for my first ultra marathon in June (probably a really bad idea 😂)
I have never ran more than a half marathon, and have barely any experience of running trails
So why not sign up for a 53km race with 1600m of elevation 🤷🏻♂️
I’ve always been fascinated by people doing mad challenges like running/cycling across continents/countries, double Ironmans, combining lifting and ultra running and all sorts of other things.
And I’ve always wished I have the balls to do something like that. So I’m chucking myself straight into an ultra (even though it’s only a little more than a marathon)
There is going to have to be some big changes to training and I’m definitely going to have to drop from my usual 5 gym sessions a week, and I’m going to need to be running more than my current 3 times per week.
Definitely going to have to lose a bit of weight too, which is sad because I’ve been enjoying getting stronger 😢
The plan is to get this hyrox out of the way Saturday, then start working out how to fit all my weekly training in, whilst managing to increase my running mileage (and not get injured, which is always the hard part)
I’m a sucker for having a goal and something to work towards and feel like I need it to make sure I continue to push myself in training, this one just might be a bit extreme 😂
Follow along for the journey to come over these next 21 weeks 👊🏻
