KS Fitness

KS Fitness PT Studio owner in Edinburgh
-Sports Science Degree Having established myself as one of the Senior PTs at Edinburgh Exchange Crescent. Olly

Having completed my Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification I gained valuable knowledge and experience from my time at Pure Gym QM since 2012. I continued my personal development by completing a TRX Suspension Training and Fundamentals of Kettlebells qualifications. I am looking to expand my knowledge by completing the UK Strength and Conditioning Association qualification (UKSCA) in the near futur

e. In 2009 I completed my Fitness, Health and Exercise HND at Stevenson College Edinburgh. From there I spent one year at Edinburgh Napier University to obtain a Degree in Sports Science with Sports Injuries to graduate in 2010. I have previously worked at Bannatyne's Health Clubs in Livingston. I believe it is essential to get back to basics. Progression and Adaptation are vital to any exercise programme and prevents everyone reaching the infamous "Plateau". Maybe you are looking to try something new altogether or you just want someone there to provide you with that extra motivation that you require. I will provide you with all the support you need to help achieve your fitness goals.

“Kerr has really taken on board everything I have wanted to achieve. Each session has been varied, educational and most importantly, very enjoyable” – Cameron

“It's clear Kerr has a real passion for fitness and enjoys helping his clients improve." Craig

“If you want to take your fitness to the next level then Kerr is your man. There is no other PT I’d rather be working with."

I have already begun training for it with last year and you can follow that training here or on the link provided below.

***TESTIMONIAL TUESDAYS***

Shootout to my former client Michael for taking the time to write this testimonial 👏🏻

I had the pleasure of training Michael for near enough 5 years and I hope in that time he has built up the confidence to try new training methods and challenge himself 🙌🏻

Michael turned up week in and week out and his support was also greatly appreciated throughout the pandemic 😷

I wish him all the best on the next stage of his fitness journey 💪🏻

Val is a returning client of mine and it’s great to have her back on board. A big put off for her has always been a gym is too busy. So busy that you can’t find any floor space to do anything 🙄

Whereas in the new studio, she feels as though now all the focus is on her training and not stressing about trying to get in some sort of workout in 👍🏻

As an avid Yoga instructor, Val finds our sessions compliment her style of teaching and help her build strength through various ranges of movements 💪🏻

***Movement Mondays***

It’s been the best part over 8yrs since I lasted trained Nigel up at a certain commercial gym in the Quarter Mile area. It’s great to have him back to aid him again in his fitness journey 🙌🏻

Climbing is a big part of Nigel’s leisure activities, whether it’s indoors or outdoors, which places various demands on the body. He will be learning the basics of Animal Flow to build that upper body strength, endurance and control to transfer over to climbing 💪🏻

Of course climbing is not just about the upper body strength, the drive from the legs is just as important. Therefore the callisthenics training will be partnered up with other forms of resistance training to improve overall strength 🤓

A lot of people spend so much time hammering their body in the gym without the sufficient recovery. is a great training technique used to improve strength and mobility but also for recovery sessions/days too 🐾

Longevity is something that I mentioned to Nigel today. It’s about training hard but being able to sustain it without constantly being injured and having setbacks ✅

With these private one on one sessions in my studio there are no distractions and the focus on technique and performance is enhanced. Something that you wouldn’t be able to pinpoint as much with a virtual or online training regime 👍🏻

***TRANSFORMATION TUESDAYS***

A completely different transformation than normal for a fitness page 🏋🏻‍♂️

A behind the scenes look at all the hard work and effort put into building my brand new studio 🏠

A place where clients need not to worry about busy commercial gyms. To either be in view of others or even just being able to do the exercises they want to do in a session. Rather than waiting around for equipment or constantly having to change their exercise routine for that day 💪🏻

After a long bout of social media silence I can now proudly reveal the new home of KS Fitness in the west of Edinburgh 🏠

After months and months of planning and applications, along with a few very cold/wet months of building it with my Dad. You could say this was 10yrs in the making. KS Fitness can now offer private Personal Training sessions in a brand new studio dedicated to it’s clients 💪🏻

A new facility including:
• Eleiko Squat rack and plates
• HFT Bodycraft Cable Machine
• 5kg-40kg Adjustable Dumbbells
• 8kg-20kg Kettlebells
• TRX
• Slantboard
• Jerk/Drop boxes
• Swissball
• Resistance Bands
• SMR/Foam Rolling tools

A new website is on it’s way along with other pieces of equipment down the line. If you’re looking to get your fitness journey back on track then hit the link in the bio for an application form 📝

A special thanks has to go out to my Dad. Without him this project never would’ve been able to take place. Especially in the freezing cold temperatures ❤️

I think I’ve just about been every tradesman you can think of in these past few months so if anyone would like a Garden Room build just let me know 😂

Another thanks goes out to my current group of clients for their patience and for sticking by me throughout this process. As I’ve said before, without them there would be no KS Fitness 🙌🏻

A share or a like would go a long way for this local business 🤗

Team KSF - New beginnings

23/11/2021

So today marks a big milestone for myself. It’s been 11 months to the date since surgery and I believe it was around this time for the first surgery that I ran into complications. Resulting in the knee buckling and rupturing the first graft 😕

Of course crashing on my bike last year made sure the damage was done 😂

The approach of this rehab has been different to last. I’ve been unable to do any water rehab in the Pool when they were all closed. The Meniscus was also trimmed at the front and back of my knee after it had been torn. Resulting in a lot more discomfort while trying to improve the range of movement (ROM) 😬

With this in mind I was trying different exercises and the video is a form of Split Squats I’ve been doing a lot of. This’ one of the more advanced progressions of this exercise. Having the front foot on the floor and the bar in the high bar position 🏋🏻‍♂️

The benefits range from challenging my ACL graft in hyperflexion and strengthening it in the biggest ROM possible. Working on ankle dorsiflexion, knee flexion, hip flexion and extension, along with big toe extension. Something that can improve balance and push off for sprints 🦶🏻

I’m now into the unknown and I would consider it another 13months to go before full recovery. With functional symmetry being achieved in that time 💪🏻
