I’ll be honest…

If your goal is to get the absolute most out of your training, a fitness class probably isn’t the most optimal way to do it.

Individual programming will always win.

But sometimes fitness isn’t always about being optimal.

Sometimes it’s about turning up on a Saturday morning and being surrounded by good people.

Having a laugh.

Meeting people you’d never normally cross paths with.

Building your confidence.

Having mini competitions in your head with the person next to you even though they have no idea about it.

Being held accountable.

Feeling part of something bigger than just another workout.

For some people, that hour is the highlight of their week.

It’s where friendships can be built, stress is forgotten, and confidence grows both inside and outside the gym.

Fitness should improve your life, not take over it.

And sometimes the best workout isn’t the perfect one on paper.

There’s a reason so many top coaches and elite athletes use the assault bike in their training.

The same reason most people hate using it.

Because very few bits of kit challenge the body the same way.

Your heart rate climbs fast, your lunges feel like they are about to explode and your body has to become more efficient at delivering oxygen under fatigue.

It trains both your aerobic and anaerobic systems, improves VO₂ max, lactate tolerance, recovery ability, and overall work capacity. (Thank you chat GPT)

It can do all this with very little impact on the body meaning you can give it the full Buhna and unlikely to get injured.

Most people hate it because it exposes fitness instantly.

You can’t hide on it.

This workout took me 4 minutes and I was completely done.

Side note - unless it’s the Echo bike it doesn’t really count 😉
