Are you training right for you? 🤔

If you want your gym work to shine through on the pitch, there’s no point in follow instagram workouts or fitness influencers.

Yeah, the exercises may be great for a b***y burn, but how is that translating to your sports performance?

You really need to get specific with your workouts to get the best results possible in your sporting field.

Of course, with this will come overall strength, improved fitness, weight loss and a more toned physique but more importantly you will function in your sport. Tackle harder, sprint faster, dodge opponents with ease and recover quicker.

To get specific about your sporting goals, drop me a message! 📩

How last week started…. Vs how it ended 🤕

Very much learning that progress is NOT a straight upward path 📈

Months following my rehab to the letter, pushing when told to push, resting when advised to rest, maintaining and improving strength elsewhere and actually all my lifts are massively increased compared to before the injury….

Two weeks back to full fitness and training, and something in my ankle is not happy when sprinting. Waiting on a scan to determine what’s going on but safe to say, gutted doesn’t cover it.

HOWEVER. I’m still hitting the gym, still focusing on the things within my control and still making progress training-wise.

Injuries DO NOT mean progress stops. If you’re out injured and not sure how to continue making gains drop me a message 📩

I’ve been there- I’m STILL there 😅

There are always ways to train around an injury, always modifications that can be made to make sure you get back to full fitness in an even better position than before 💪🏻

HAMSTRINGS AND HIPS

Two of the areas a lot of sports people struggle with.

Strong hamstrings and hip flexors play a huge part in sprinting, but are often overlooked in terms of flexibility and mobility.

Here are a few of my go to stretches- to be performed AFTER training, and held for a minimum of 20-30 seconds- to maintain healthy hammies and hips.

For a dedicated stretching programme, specific to your sport and designed to prevent injury, promote recovery and maximise performance, get in touch! 📩

Monday motivation… Patience is paramount 🕰️

Progress isn’t made overnight. It takes time and discipline. So turn up each week, turn up when you’re not fully feeling it, turn up especially when you don’t want to, because this is where true gains are made.

SPECIFICITY MATTERS! 🧐

If you’re someone struggling with time, you need to dig into exactly what you want to achieve and then make sure that you’re focusing on this in the gym rather than just doing generic strength exercises.

Drop me a message to find out how to tailor your workout to your needs, and use your time more efficiently and effectively to get you from A to B faster.

✨ 2023 GOALS ✨ putting these out there to hold myself accountable!

• First and foremost, I want to get back to full fitness Achilles-wise. For me, this means able to play rugby and do ballet 100% without any worry or ni**le 🏉 🩰 in order to do this, I’ll be smashing out my physio and rehab, and keeping my fitness up in the gym as much as possible.

• Gym wise, I’m pretty happy with the progress I’ve made with my upper body strength so will simply look at maintaining this. The back end of last year I focussed on upper body a lot more than I usually would due to my injury but enjoyed working on improving my pull up game. Next goal: unaided muscle ups! 💪🏻
I’d also love to keep pushing my deadlift PB, which is currently sitting at 130kg. I’d like to think 140kg is achievable within a couple of months so I’m excited to see where I’ll be with this at the end of the year. My injury is preventing too much heavy squatting right now, but I plan to be back up at 100kg by the end of 2023.

Lots of other things to look forwards to, including puppy training with Otto 🐾FINALLY completing my degree in French and Spanish, and making time to go out hiking at the weekends ⛰️ which will be even more enjoyable I’m sure with the dog by my side 🥰

“First time I feel CONFIDENT wearing this”

Alex is absolutely crushing her programme, even during the frantic festive period. A busy mum of two young girls, looking to shift some post-baby weight and fit back into her clothes, she’s been smashing her home workouts and the results speak for themselves!

Body confidence is so much more important than what the scales are saying, so as a coach, hearing this from a client is absolutely amazing ✨

If you’re struggling to shed some weight and want to feel AMAZING & CONFIDENT, why wait until the New Year when today could be day 1?

Fill out the form above (link in bio) to start working with me and getting the results you both want and deserve.
