June Member of the Month: Ryan Gillespie

Eight years strong at CrossFit Derry. In that time, Ryan’s ticked off a few milestones… got married and now he’s about to become a dad yet his commitment to turning up and doing the work has never wavered

Ryan is the definition of quietly determined. No fuss, no drama (ok a wee bit of drama) just consistent work, refining his movement, showing up when it counts and being the first with words of encouragement to those around him.

Ryan, thanks for being a cornerstone of the gym and for raising the standard without ever needing the spotlight. We can’t wait to welcome the newest Gillespie to the CFD crew.

Big weekend for the team 💪🔥

Marty, Ally and Luke kicked things off at the Chalk Fitness Spring Throwdown, setting the tone for what’s shaping up to be a huge summer of competition for CrossFit Derry.

Proud to see the hard work paying off on the competition floor — and this is just the beginning 👊

If you’ve been thinking about competing, now’s the time. There are loads of events coming up to suit all levels. Chat to one of the coaches and we’ll point you in the right direction for your first (or next) comp 🏋️‍♂️

Member of the Month: Gemma Breslin
Gemma joined us back in July last year, not knowing much about CrossFit, other than a friend reckoned she’d love the training and the craic… and they weren’t wrong 😅
From day one, Gemma’s “sure I’ll give it a go” attitude (always with that big smile) has made her an absolute dream to coach. She’s in the gym 4 times a week, putting in the graft, learning, laughing and getting fitter every single session.
When the CrossFit Open came around there was no hesitation, “sure I’ll give it a bash” and off she went, giving it 100%. That’s Gemma in a nutshell 👊 Friendly, humble, and quietly getting stronger week after week.
Pretty sure she’s only just scratching the surface of what she’s capable of, there’s a lot more in the tank 👀
We’re forever grateful to Colleen for bringing her along to that Bring a Friend Day… the gym is all the better for it ❤️
