You deserve the truth

But all you get is the same advice as everyone else.

You do as you’re told after having a CS.

You don't touch your scar for 6 weeks (but then it scabs, oozes, and becomes thick and dominant).

You don't work out until 12 weeks (but then you're weeks behind in your recovery, while others are pain-free and lifting weights back at the gym).

You rest and wait to be cleared at your 6-week GP appointment (but then leave in 10 minutes with no answers or a plan to help you next).

You're not alone; everyone gets the same information.

No personalized plan, no roadmap on what to do next, and no early recovery tips to speed things up.

How would I look after a C-section scar?

This is the exact roadmap I would follow.

There is so much conflicting advice out there, and it is easy to feel lost or stuck in pain. But recovery is not random.

It follows a predictable physiological timeline, and when you support your body during the right windows, you get better results.

In the early weeks, the goal is purely hydration and healing.

At 8 weeks, we safely introduce protection for longer periods of the day. Silicone strips offer hydration and protection for 12 to 24 hours.

By 12 weeks, we shift focus to tissue mobility to prevent adhesions.

Around 12 weeks, mums often think their scar is going to stay like this forever.

That is when you are most prone to go backwards, especially with sun exposure and pigmentation.

By 6 months, scars are either fading or becoming more noticeable. The best approach here is often using vitamin E to help improve the colour.

When recovery is broken down like this, it is so simple that you cannot get confused.
