The yard at home has been so busy I haven’t got around to an update… last couple of events with my superstars 🤩

⛲️Frickley⛲️

🍊Ballyshan Commander🍊 33 DC some time dropping him to 10th 🏅
🪩Ollie’s pride and joy 🪩 32 dressage, two uncharacteristic poles but a super clear xc where he just feels fabulous.
🫧Ballydonagh Bawn🫧 did his second 90. Scoring 29 in the dressage, two green poles, but a fab clear xc 🤍

🌱Aston🌱
🍊Ballyshan Commander🍊 took a good test of 33.5 forward and then managed a dc to that 6th 👑🏅
🪩Ollie’s pride and joy🪩 took a 33.3 forward with a dc to place 9th 🏅🤍
🫧Ballydonagh Bawn🫧 went to his first ever event. I’ve only been working him for 4 months and he was super, I felt he really enjoyed his party!
He did a good test with a couple of mistakes to score 31.5, he rolled a pole sj but then surpassed all expectations to jump clear and fast round his first xc!! He was in a normal 90 section so was HC his final score would have been good enough for 7th 🏅

Really enjoying the boys and thriving seeing them improve each time out. Aiming for osberton in the autumn which is super exciting having had a few quiet years!

Little Downham 👑 Ollie’s Pride and Joy stepped up to do the 105 yesterday and knowing this was a little bit of step up I was anxious to see how he’d take it on.
We have been working really hard on his flatwork, he doesn’t always find it easy to lock in a focus, not get tight and tense and he also tires and then can drop onto his shoulders. So I tried out a new warm up regime and it seemed to have paid off. He took a score of 30.3 from the dressage which was a novice test!!
He then jumped two faultless rounds in the showjumping negotiating a treble, and a fantastic clear xc where he was just my partner in crime! He felt utterly class. I am super excited about what he does next!
Oliver loves his eventing and it is soooo wonderful to ride a horse who clearly has found his calling.

To top it off he finished 🥈 🤩👑🎉

Super couple of events with Ollie’s pride and joy and prince vert.

Aston saw Ollie’s pride and joy did a super test for 30.8, he then jumped a wonderful double clear. However through being competitive I was slightly too fast picking up a couple of time which left us 7th 🏅
Prince Vert did a great test for 34.8 he also jumped a fab double clear. However I was caught out in the showjumping with the time being tight and then he was slightly OTT round the xc so we ended up with time there too. Still another double clear for him!

Next was osberton where Ollie’s pride and Joy had a great day. Scoring a higher mark than I’d have liked, jumping well, but having an uncharacteristic pole, he stormed the xc despite a hold and a loose horse galloping straight towards him and still managed to stay on his job and finishing 9th! 🏅

Oh I’ve been so slack on my updates.
Here are the last few events run down…..
Lincoln 🍃
Ballyshan commander- 35 dressage (first fenceitous from me) and clear xc 🍊
Prince Vert- 31.8 DC fab run just a few time
Ollie’s pride and joy- 36 DC just missing a placing.
Bullard’s fine gin- 30.8, clear sj 😍

Tetworth 🌳
Two naughty boys in the dressage not sure what happened with them
Ollie’s pride and joy- 37.5 but a DC to just miss a placing again…
Prince Vert- a 38.5 (he was wild) and a DC so a good boy by the end.
Ballyshan Commander- wasn’t himself. Sadly he has injured his jaw, in a freak yard accident and we are waiting patiently for him to be healed. Sadly this was why he didn’t perform at tetworth.
Bullard’s Fine Gin- did a lovely test for 30.8 sj clear, however after commander I decided not to run him.

Burnham market ⛱️
Prince Vert- did a much better test for 34, he then jumped a super DC. Still working his rideability out xc meant he incurred a few time!
Ollie’s pride and joy- was still slightly too tense in his dressage, scoring 37.5. Had a very uncharacteristic pole down sj. But clear xc in the time left him 9th 🏅

After Burnham I lost my best friend… which is why I have been so absent on here.
Bert was my shadow, my confidant, my loyal companion and the love of my life.
Everything feels a little gloomier without him and the yard feels empty.
It was all so sudden but he spent the Friday with me all day at the horse trials being the bestest boy as usual. 🐺
