For our youngest players, it’s not about scoreboards or trophies. It’s about belonging. It’s about finding their people, building confidence, learning new skills and knowing they are part of something special.
Our Harvey Norman Get Into Rugby program for our Under 6s and 7s is where friendships begin, confidence grows and lifelong memories are made.
It’s halftime oranges and muddy smiles. It’s learning healthy habits while having the best fun along the way.
It’s the proud excitement of pulling on their jersey each week and the joy of celebrating every little achievement together.
It’s the quiet kids finding confidence, the energetic kids finding focus and every child being included and celebrated exactly as they are.
It’s tiny hands helping teammates up.
It’s cheering on your mates and supporting each other no matter what.
It’s filling in for the opposition when they need a player and learning that kindness and teamwork matter just as much as winning.
It’s parents becoming friends on the sidelines, volunteers giving their time, coaches who genuinely care and our whole club coming together for the set up, post match sausage sizzle, game days and packing it all away afterwards.
It’s thanking our referees, respecting each other and teaching our kids what community really means. It’s being a part of something bigger than ourselves, the hugs and high fives after the game and the laughter that echoes long after training finishes.
Our juniors look up to our senior players every week with stars in their eyes, dreaming that maybe one day, if they work hard, listen to their coaches, support their teammates and believe in themselves, they’ll run out onto the big stage too.
At the Barbarians, we’re not just raising rugby players — we’re raising good mates, kind humans and kids who know how to lift each other up.
