Proud moments like this remind me why I love coaching.
These young men bring character, competitiveness, and a genuine team-first mentality every time they step on the field. Traits like that don’t appear by chance, they’re built over years through the influence of many great coaches, mentors, and environments.
Player development is never an individual effort. It’s collective. From the coaches who introduce the game, to those who shape habits, standards, and values along the way.
I want to acknowledge Christian Sergiacomi (Serge), not just for the rugby player development, but for the impact he’s had on these boys as young men. I’m fortunate to be a beneficiary of the values he’s instilled and grateful to lean on his insight as I look to better facilitate their growth and potential.
As coaches, we carry a responsibility - to the game and to the people who play it, to add value, create positive experiences, and leave things better than we found them.
Grateful to Serge, and to all the men and women who give their time, care, and wisdom to grow our great game.
And yes Serge is on his tippy toes 🤣
