🌟 Feel Good Friday🌟
This week’s Feel Good Friday is all about celebrating the wonderful Lauren!
Lauren first joined us around 20 years ago (give or take! 😅) after a friend invited her along to a Flexit class. It didn’t take long before she became a regular, progressing from Flexit into our cardio and weights classes, then expanding into yoga, mat Pilates and eventually Pilates reformer.
Lauren is a shining example of what happens when you start where you’re at and gradually build over time. Rather than trying to do everything at once, she embraced each new challenge, adding different forms of movement to create a well-rounded approach that has helped her stay mobile, strong, fit and agile.
One of Lauren’s favourite philosophies is:
“A person should not be defined by their age. Yes, you may very well be faced with various challenges and medical issues that arise in life, but you can choose to control the lifestyle factors and the choices you make to better manage them. As a lifelong learner, I try to keep an active, open mind and an active body. It’s good, even if it’s sometimes scary, to challenge yourself mentally and physically so you can fully enjoy the things you want to experience each day.”
Lauren never lets pain or injury define her. Instead, she presents us with the challenge, we work together to modify and adapt her movement and exercise program, and she simply keeps moving forward. Her resilience, determination and willingness to adapt are truly inspiring.
Most recently, Lauren completed her fourth Studio Benefit yoga retreat, and she continues to be one of those beautiful people who wholeheartedly embraces every experience. Whether it’s trekking to waterfalls, hopping on boats, exploring new places, trying something outside her comfort zone, or quietly sharing her wisdom and encouragement with others, Lauren gives everything a go.
We absolutely love her positive “can do” attitude and the way she approaches every challenge with courage, curiosity and just the tiniest little whimper! 😄
Lauren, thank you for being such a valued part of the Studio Benefit family for the past two decades. Your enthusiasm, resilience and lifelong commitment to learning, movement and living well continue to inspire us all.
💚 Here’s to many more years of movement, adventure and saying “yes” to life’s opportunities
