This past weekend, the J.T.G. Cricket Association proudly hosted a C.S.A. Level 1 Coaching Course, providing an excellent opportunity for aspiring coaches to further their development and contribute to the growth of cricket in our region.

A total of 28 aspiring coaches from across the J.T.G. Region attended the course, demonstrating their commitment to developing their coaching knowledge and helping to shape the next generation of cricketers.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the course facilitators, Mr. Marvin Tsehisi, Mr. Jason Brooker, and Mr. Roy Williams, for sharing their expertise, experience, and passion for the game. Your contribution to coach education is greatly valued and will have a lasting impact on cricket development in our communities.

A special word of thanks to Mr. Gerhard Marais and Kalahari High School for their outstanding support and for making their facilities available for the duration of the course. Your partnership and commitment to cricket development are sincerely appreciated.

Investing in coaches is investing in the future of cricket. We congratulate all 28 candidates on completing the course and wish them every success as they continue their coaching journeys and contribute to the growth of cricket throughout the J.T.G. Region.

The J.T.G. Cricket Association was honoured to host representatives from C.S.A. (Cricket South Africa), namely Mr. Johan Weyers, Ms. Buhle Vaphi, and Mr. Colin Gxowa, during their recent visit to the J.T.G. Region.

The visit included stakeholder engagements, inspections of cricket facilities across the region, and a visit to the Kalahari Eye Warriors Hub in Bathlaros, Kuruman, where the impact of grassroots cricket development was showcased.

The C.S.A. delegation also met with the Chairman, Mr. Theo-Leighton de K**k, and Vice-Chairman, Dr. Mpho Motsepa, together with members of the J.T.G. Executive Committee, to discuss future opportunities, strategic partnerships, and initiatives aimed at strengthening and growing cricket within our region.

We thank our guests for their valuable insights and continued support of cricket development in the J.T.G. Region.

The J.T.G. Cricket Association proudly acknowledges the achievement of Ntebogang Motlhabane, a talented young cricketer from the K.E.W. Hub in Bathlaros, Kuruman, who attended the Regional U17 Camp in Durban during May 2026.

His participation at this level is a testament to his dedication, hard work, and passion for cricket. It also reflects the positive impact of the cricket development programmes being implemented within our communities.

We are proud of Ntebogang’s achievement and congratulate him on this important milestone. We trust that the experience gained at the camp will contribute greatly to his growth both on and off the field.

Unfortunately, the Final against Kathu High School could not be completed due to rain. In accordance with the competition regulations, Kalahari High School were declared the champions after finishing at the top of the league standings.
