Another legendary weekend at The Range! ⛳️

The rain arrived, so the boys packed in and took on Augusta and Pebble Beach indoors… the less said about those scores, the better. From monster drives to shots that may require a full investigation, it was golf at its finest. Sort of.

A driver lost its head but the smash factor was outrageous, and a golf club somehow found its way into the ceiling. The Range now looks less like a driving range and more like a modern art museum.

Speaking of which, clothing was left behind to keep last week’s plakkies company. One more weekend like this and we’ll be opening a second-hand shop in the corner.

That’s what we love about The Range: bring your mates, play a few holes, have a laugh, see who can hit it the furthest… and, ideally, see who can keep their club out of the ceiling. No pros required — just a sense of humour and perhaps a helmet.

Rain, golf, questionable decisions, and boys being boys.

🏌️‍♂️💥 THE RANGE LONGEST DRIVE COMPETITION — AND BOY, DID THEY BRING THE THUNDER! 💥🏌️‍♂️

Last Friday, The Range hosted its FIRST EVER Indoor Longest Drive Competition… and let’s just say, things got a little out of hand. 😂

The guys arrived.
The clubs came out.
The egos were on the line.

The vibe was EPIC!
The attendance was fantastic.
And there was so much laughing, cheering and general carry-on that we may have accidentally created the best Friday night in town! 😂

There were BIG swings, BIG drives and BIG bragging rights — and then there were a few swings that… well… let’s just say they won’t be appearing on the PGA Tour anytime soon. 🤣

AND THEN CAME THE BIG ONE…

🥇 ALEX HIBBERT — 378 METRES!

That wasn’t a drive.
That was a change of postal address. 😂

Alex absolutely SMASHED that ball into another postcode and walked away with the bragging rights for The Range’s very first Longest Drive!

👏 Congratulations, Alex!

And not far behind…
🥈 HARDUS DU PREEZ — 319 METRES! 💥FRANÇOIS MULDER — 311 METRES!

Three seriously impressive drives — and three very different levels of “I definitely meant to do that.” 😂

😂 THEN WE HAD THE OTHER END OF THE SCALE…
Not everyone was interested in changing their postal address.
One brave competitor managed a 3-METRE DRIVE! 🤣👏
Yes.
THREE. METRES.

We’re not sure whether to call it a drive, a putt, or simply a very enthusiastic tap. 😂

And then came the TOTAL MISS HIT…

Absolutely nothing wrong with aiming for the fairway.

The fairway was just… apparently somewhere else. 🤣

And just when we thought we’d seen everything…

👣 SOMEONE LEFT THEIR PLAKKIES BEHIND! 👣😂

We’re not saying the competition got intense…

Honestly, though, THAT is exactly what we loved about the night.

The competition was real.
The drives were BIG.
The misses were hilarious.
The banter was awesome!
A MASSIVE thank you to everyone who came down and made our first-ever Longest Drive Competition such a jol.

Thank you for the laughs, the competition, the cheering, the massive drives, the questionable drives… and, of course, the abandoned plakkies. 😂

We’ll be posting the videos and photos because some of these swings simply HAVE to be seen to be believed! 📸🎥

And one thing is for sure…

THIS WON’T BE THE LAST ONE! 🔥🔥🔥
